'Awake, and breathe the air Of the celestial clime: Awake to love which knows no change, Thou who has done with time' Who would write such lovely words? Wesley? Havergal? Sankey? Nope - it's from the Spiritualists National Union hymn book We need to be aware of what we are singing, and where, if possible, the words came from. It is so easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment and sing with gusto songs that perhaps have no spiritual basis whatsoever. This book thankfully does not have any more offerings from such dubious hymn books, but I do include some songs where I may question what the words mean. Shouldn't all of us be doing that? I include hymns/carols/choruses about three aspects of the life of Jesus - His Birth, His death and His resurrection. Where I do not add any comments are the ones which I (currently) cannot fault, others I add comments where I may be unsure of the content. The next time you sing a hymn, carol or chorus, please do not be afraid to act appropriately if you disagree with its content

Although a Zionist need not be Jewish, nonetheless this book argues that Zionism is only a coherent political stance when it is intelligently rooted in Judaism, especially in the classical Jewish doctrine of God's election of the people of Israel and the commandment to them to settle the land of Israel. The religious Zionism advocated here is contrasted with secular versions of Zionism that take Zionism to be a replacement of Judaism. It is also contrasted with versions of religious Zionism that ascribe messianic significance to the State of Israel, or which see the main task of religious Zionism to be the establishment of an Israeli theocracy.

In the compressed space of five weeks, he consulted with leading physicians and surgeons at four major medical centers.
