The world has been decimated by a biological weapon. Over 85% of the population is dead, the rest are rendered sterile. Now a small group fights back, but are they too late? Shanghaied is the story of this fight back, Shanghaied is fast paced and full of action. Set in the not too distant future and based on things that are being researched today. It has been said that our memories are what makes us who we are.So, who are we if we lose all our memories? Two people wake up not knowing who they are, where they are or how they got there. The world they wake up to is also unknown. The vast majority of the human race is dead - entire countries are uninhabitable. The cause? Human stupidity. Two scientists developed what they believed would be the holy grail of vaccines; a binary virus/vaccine that would fight all disease, ending massive suffering. Politics and greed, however, got in their way. Their vision of a universal savior for humanity was transformed into a weapon of mass destruction, the likes never before imagined. If it didn't kill, it rendered the recipient sterile. Anyone left alive is now doomed to a long, slow death. One man thinks he can fix the problem. Professor Reginald Denham finds a way to travel back in time and recruit healthy people for his dream of a human breeding program.But... the virus isn't finished. It fights back Any child conceived either dies in the womb or is so horrendously mutated, it cannot survive. In desperation, Denham returns to the past again, this time with a different agenda. Instead of "recruiting" another couple... he "shanghaies" them. This is their story.

Forced to defend his suit with a 300-kilometre trek from Paris to the sea, Frederick discovers a talent for the Victorian-era sport of Pedestrianism. When Forgill's son Percy terminates Frederick's employment, the former slum-dweller establishes his own stationary engine factory, part-funded by prize money from pedestrian competitions. While Percy plots their downfall, the next generation of Mortons travel to Africa and Australia, marketing their innovative engines. Before he does, a boy offers him the chance to buy a small bronze relic, found in the river's upper reaches, and inscribed with a Chinese triad 'war dragon.' The purchase sets off a sequence of murder, victimisation, incarceration, and ultimately escape. The story delves back a century into the past, to a Chinese 'Red Pole' in the Sheathed Sword Society, and a hoard of gold that was lost en route from the Palmer River Goldfields to China. Healing Trauma at the Cellular Level
In Healing Trauma at the Cellular Level, Greg Doney offers a groundbreaking exploration of how trauma affects both mind and body, diving deep into the cellular mechanisms that keep survivors stuck in cycles of chronic stress and illness. Drawing on cutting-edge science, holistic therapies, and practical strategies, this book sheds light on the Cell Danger Response (CDR)-a defence mechanism that, when chronically activated, leads to conditions such as chronic fatigue, autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia, and cognitive impairment.Moving beyond the traditional view of trauma as merely psychological, Greg Doney recognises trauma as a whole-body experience that disrupts brain function, immune responses, and energy production. He explains how therapies stimulating salugenesis signalling-the body's natural healing process-can restore cellular balance, helping survivors move from a state of defence to one of recovery. From PTSD and Complex PTSD (CPTSD) to intergenerational trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), this book covers the broad spectrum of trauma and its long-lasting effects. It also explores emerging treatment modalities and mind-body approaches that promote nervous system regulation and emotional healing. Ideal for survivors, therapists, and anyone interested in understanding trauma at a cellular level, Healing Trauma at the Cellular Level provides the tools to break free from trauma's hold and reclaim a healthier, more vibrant life.

This book describes with raw honesty and deep emotion the journeys that families go on when their child is born with an Imperforate Anus (IA) also known as Anorectal Malformation (ARM). It is a rare congenital condition that affects ONE in 5000 births which is very rarely talked about or known in the wider community. It reveals the many difficulties both emotionally and physically that babies, children and adults living with IA/ARM endure. It is a book filled with love, courage, resilience and hope. It shows the importance of having access to good information and medical staff who are compassionate and knowledgeable and the unnecessary suffering that occurs when that is unavailable.Above all it recognises that the IA/ARM community looks after each other and is playing an increasingly important role in providing sound information and support. The response of the IA/ARM community from all around the world to Greg's requests for stories for this book, is a powerful example of how the community is working together. This book is a must read for health professionals and teachers who play such a significant role in the lives of each IA/ARM child, adolescent and adult. It will also enlighten extended families, friends and the wider community about this relatively unknown condition. Reading the stories is inspiring and heart wrenching. It is about babies, children and adults who have strong spirits and big hearts. It is also about the power of love as parents battle their way through the often confusing health systems and the relief when unanswered questions are finally resolved. Saying Grace: Mealtime Prayers is an enriching guide designed for individuals and families who wish to incorporate gratitude into one of the most routine parts of their day-mealtime. This is a book for those who seek to thank God amid everyday activities, to foreshadow the grand banquet in the kingdom to come, or simply to enhance their mealtime experience through spiritual reflection. Author Greg Pearce offers a collection of prayers that cater to various situations, from ordinary daily meals to special occasions, providing a structure that can inspire readers to compose their own personalised blessings. The act of saying grace before meals is a longstanding tradition in many cultures, serving as a moment to pause and reflect on the blessings of nourishment and community. Saying Grace takes this tradition further by offering prayers that are deeply rooted in a sense of gratitude and anticipation. These prayers are not merely rote recitations but are crafted to draw individuals into a deeper sense of fellowship and connection with God and one another. For those who may feel at a loss for words, this book provides a starting point, offering a range of prayers that can be used as-is or adapted to suit personal or family preferences. The inclusion of graces for special occasions allows for the acknowledgment of significant moments and celebrations, adding a layer of spiritual significance to gatherings that might otherwise be overlooked. Moreover, Saying Grace encourages a communal approach to mealtime prayers. Whether one is dining alone or with others, the act of giving thanks can foster a sense of unity and shared purpose. In a world where meals can often be hurried and disconnected, taking a moment to say grace can transform the dining experience into one of intentional gratitude and mindfulness. This book also emphasises the eschatological aspect of mealtime prayers-looking forward to the ultimate banquet in the kingdom of God. This forward-looking perspective imbues the act of saying grace with a sense of hope and anticipation, reminding believers of the greater spiritual realities that underpin their daily lives. In essence, Saying Grace: Mealtime Prayers is more than just a collection of prayers; it is an invitation to infuse daily routines with spiritual depth and meaning. By encouraging readers to pause, reflect, and give thanks, the book aims to deepen their relationship with God and with those they share their meals. Through its diverse prayers and thoughtful guidance, it seeks to transform the simple act of eating into a profound moment of fellowship and gratitude.

At the age of fifteen, Charlie left his home in Bendigo and signed on as a drover with Nat Buchanan. Two years later he was a key man on one of Australia's greatest cattle drives - the Durack family's two-year journey from Cooper's Creek, Queensland - to the Kimberley. Stumbling on Charlie's largely unknown story, and filling in the gaps with fiction, the author has created a novel unique in Australian literature. An unprecedented adventure, and a passionate love story - Whistler's Bones is both a celebration of the good things in the settlement of Northern Australia - and a damning indictment of the bad.
