Harry Heathcote of Gangoil. A tale of Australian bush life (1874). By: Anthony Trollope: Novel (Original Classics)
Anthony Trollope ( 24 April 1815 - 6 December 1882) was an English novelist of the Victorian era. Among his best-known works is a series of novels collectively known as the Chronicles of Barsetshire, which revolves around the imaginary county of Barsetshire. He also wrote novels on political, social, and gender issues, and other topical matters. Trollope's literary reputation dipped somewhat during the last years of his life, but he had regained the esteem of critics by the mid-20th century. Biography: Thomas Anthony Trollope, Anthony's father, was a barrister. Though a clever and well-educated man and a Fellow of New College, Oxford, he failed at the bar due to his bad temper. In addition, his ventures into farming proved unprofitable, and he lost an expected inheritance when an elderly childless uncle remarried and had children. As a son of landed gentry, he wanted his sons to be raised as gentlemen and to attend Oxford or Cambridge. Anthony Trollope suffered much misery in his boyhood owing to the disparity between the privileged background of his parents and their comparatively small means.Born in London, Anthony attended Harrow School as a free day pupil for three years from the age of seven because his father's farm, acquired for that reason, lay in that neighbourhood. After a spell at a private school at Sunbury, he followed his father and two older brothers to Winchester College, where he remained for three years. He returned to Harrow as a day-boy to reduce the cost of his education. Trollope had some very miserable experiences at these two public schools. They ranked as two of the most lite schools in England, but Trollope had no money and no friends, and was bullied a great deal. At the age of twelve, he fantasised about suicide. However, he also daydreamed, constructing elaborate imaginary worlds. In 1827, his mother Frances Trollope moved to America with Trollope's three younger siblings, to Nashoba Commune. After that failed, she opened a bazaar in Cincinnati, which proved unsuccessful. Thomas Trollope joined them for a short time before returning to the farm at Harrow, but Anthony stayed in England throughout. His mother returned in 1831 and rapidly made a name for herself as a writer, soon earning a good income. His father's affairs, however, went from bad to worse. He gave up his legal practice entirely and failed to make enough income from farming to pay rents to his landlord, Lord Northwick. In 1834, he fled to Belgium to avoid arrest for debt. The whole family moved to a house near Bruges, where they lived entirely on Frances's earnings. In Belgium, Anthony was offered a commission in an Austrian cavalry regiment. To accept it, he needed to learn French and German; he had a year in which to acquire these languages. To learn them without expense to himself and his family, he took a position as an usher (assistant master) in a school in Brussels, which position made him the tutor of thirty boys. After six weeks of this, however, he received an offer of a clerkship in the General Post Office, obtained through a family friend. He returned to London in the autumn of 1834 to take up this post.Thomas Trollope died the following year. According to Trollope, "the first seven years of my official life were neither creditable to myself nor useful to the public service." At the Post Office, he acquired a reputation for unpunctuality and insubordination. A debt of 12 to a tailor fell into the hands of a moneylender and grew to over 200; the lender regularly visited Trollope at his work to demand payments. Trollope hated his work, but saw no alternative and lived in constant fear of dismissal.

Just because it didn't happen here doesn't mean that it never happened. Causation is a collection of memoirs of Harry Black, the founder of Harry's Time Tours. This tells of the early years, when Harry was first transported to this world and met his beautiful sidekick and wife, Mary. And the final years, when Harry was moving the company off planet to avoid confiscatory taxes and regulations. Harry is different. The Many Worlds Interpretation is mostly correct, but there probably are just many worlds, instead of the infinity of worlds that Everett theorized, and it is possible to communicate from one world to another, and Harry is living proof of that, because he is from a different space-time. In the world that Harry is from time travel is not just possible, but it is a common way to have a vacation, and it is an excellent tool for researching history and anthropology. Harry was on a time trip when he ended up in this world, so his time machine came along with him. If you have a question about the past, then Harry can help you. Whether you want to witness the assassination of Julius Caesar, or you wonder about Catherine the Great and either cavalrymen or their steeds, Harry can get you to the time and place. Have you ever wanted to spend an evening with Cleopatra or watch the defeat of Troy? Harry can provide transport to any time and place in the history of humanity, and if you don't know exactly when, he can do the research to find the time and place that something happened. If your interest is criminal, then he might still be interested.Keep in mind that anything that you change in the past will create a new space-time, and it won't alter the history of this world. So kill Hitler in 1923, if you want, but it won't change what happens in this world, but be careful with the future. The Really Great Pandemic is up there, and it is incurable, and the mortality rate is high. On the other hand, the virus inserts a bit of DNA that keeps telomeres from deteriorating with all that implies.Harry isn't the only one with time travel. There are the ones who claim to be the Time Police, but there's more to them than just that.

He was married, and with him and his wife lived his wife's sister. At that somewhat late hour he walked in among the two young women, and another much older woman who was preparing the table for dinner. The wife and the wife's sister each had a child in her lap, the elder having seen some fifteen months of its existence, and the younger three months. "He has been out since seven, and I don't think he's had a mouthful," the wife had just said. "Oh, Harry, you must be half starved," she exclaimed, jumping up to greet him, and throwing her arm round his bare neck. "I'm about whole melted," he said, as he kissed her. "In the name of charity give me a nobbler. I did get a bit of damper and a pannikin of tea up at the German's hut; but I never was so hot or so thirsty in my life.

"Keep quiet Here he comes now " declared Socker. Instantly all eyes were turned in the direction of the schoolhouse where they saw a lad walking with a swinging stride. Apparently about fifteen years of age, he was well built and rather tall. Dark hair, which curled about his cap, and laughing eyes bespoke him as a jolly, handsome fellow, and the ruddy glow brought to his cheeks by the crisp winter air was evidence that he was possessed of health in abundance. "Why, I know who he is " asserted another of the group. "Who?" "He must be Harry Watson, nephew of the Widow Watson. I remember Mrs. Watson told mother the other day that her nephew, Harry, was coming to Rivertown." "Where's he from?"

Between 1920 and his death in 1933, Harry Alan Potamkin wrote poems for literary magazines, workers' newspapers and Black newspapers. He was first inspired by the example of modernist poets, and as America changed in the days of the Great Depression, so too did Potamkin's poems, striking an uneasy balance between social vision and aesthetic experimentation. Potamkin's poems fused elegy, outrage and reportage with the concerns of the ancients. In the Embryo of All Things is the first collection of Harry Alan Potamkin's poems. This volume gathers his complete poems, including a speculative arrangement of his unfinished Spectacle Negre and his lyrics for children's songs written for the Pioneers, a Communist youth organization.
