I hid my truth and left small town Pennsylvania for the city life of Washington, DC. immediately after college graduation.My mother carried memories of tragic family deaths and a lesbian encounter of her own. When she questioned my lifestyle and said she would "blame herself and not know what to do for the rest of her life," I thought she might take her own life so, I lied. My father, raised in the non-traditional life of circus performers, unleashed me to be whoever I wanted to be but I continued my double life of straight daughter and gay lover.Then becoming a teacher and high school principal, I also lived a secret nocturnal life-my triple life. Bartending in shady parts of D.C., I was hit by a rock, saw a gun pulled on my friend, and witnessed fights, arrests, and marches that pitted straights against gays. I jumped from girlfriend to girlfriend, courted a few straight girls, and dabbled in activities far different from the straight educator I portrayed by day.On the day of my father's funeral, my mother proclaimed her recognition of my gayness. What I hoped would be a celebration of love and openness was anticlimactic. I had wasted too many years. My father was gone, and I had lost friends rather than share my truth.Against the backdrop of the burgeoning LGBTQ movement, I became a courageous trailblazer and did my own coming out in a big way, I married a woman. Now I share my truth with the world and enjoy the happiness that honesty has given me.Do not make the mistakes I made. Openly love who you love.
Molly Jane Hampton is a compelling mystery. Mary Lynn and Joe Hampton are happily married with two children. John William is six-years-old and Molly Jane is four. Mary Lynn's sister and her husband, Laura and Ted Wilson, live next to the Hampton's. Unable to have children of their own, Laura and Ted Wilson dote on John William and Molly Jane. One day at school, John William was scolded and questioned about his squirming around in his chair. When John William replied that it was because "his bottom hurt," he is sent to the school nurse. When John William is questioned about it, he becomes terribly upset. The school decides to involve the authorities and a doctor examines John William and reports that he has been sexually abused.The reader is led through the daily struggles and pain of: Mary Lynn who has no doubt her husband is innocent and searches for the real killer; Joe who fears for his life in prison where he is labeled "baby killer;" and Laura Wilson who truly believes Joe killed his son and worries that one day Molly may be returned to a dangerous situation.

This book offers practical advice on managing enterprise modeling (EM) projects and facilitating participatory EM sessions. Modeling activities often involve groups of people, and models are created in a participatory way. Ensuring that this is done efficiently requires dedicated individuals who know how to organize modeling projects and sessions, how to manage discussions during these sessions, and what aspects influence the success and efficiency of modeling in practice.The book also includes a summary of the theoretical background to EM, although participatory modeling can also be used in conjunction with other methods that are not made for EM, such as those made for goal-oriented requirements engineering and information systems analysis.The first four chapters present an overview of enterprise modeling from various viewpoints (including methods, processes and organizational challenges), providing a background for those that need to refresh their basic knowledge. The next six chapters form the core of the book and detail the roles and competences needed in an EM project, typical stakeholder behaviors and how to handle them, tools and methods for managing participatory modeling and facilitation, and how to train modeling experts for these social aspects of modeling. Lastly, a concluding chapter presents a summary and an outlook on current research in participatory EM.This book is intended for anybody who wants to learn more about how to facilitate participatory modeling in practice and how to set up and carry out EM projects.
