Growing up in the isolated community of Norseton, New Mexico, Erin Petersen always felt at odds with her peers. Although power and favor is flowing back to the Af tama clan from the old Viking gods, Erin hasn't been bestowed with any. She's still a weak psychic, and being a perpetual sore thumb has left her aimless. When the sexy as sin boy-next-door Will Valle returns to Norseton after more than a decade away, not only does he offer her the possibility of a exciting job in spite of her weak gifts, but a chance to explore the world outside of Norseton. In the midst of the sexual awakening her brooding geek ignites, Erin learns that her "weirdness" might exist for a more sinister reason. She's prepared to confront it with Will's help, but in doing so, the revelations they force to the surface might shake the Af tama to their core. Erin has always wanted to fit in, but now she might be the reason many in the clan are on the way out.

Acting as an emissary for her pregnant cousin Tess, Nadia Hall's mission is to locate a missing member of her clan's royalty. She sets up a temporary base in Florida expecting Tess to send backup, but Nadia doesn't expect it to show up in the form of one of the two men she's been aggressively avoiding for months. And when man number two arrives out of the blue, her crippling anxiety about connecting to her fated makes the usually assertive woman run and hide. To complicate matters, her mates Thom Vaughn and Jeff Alstrup butt heads in a way only a sexually frustrated fairy and a fire-wielding modern Viking can manage. It seems the men don't have a problem sharing Nadia-the issue is the men don't know if they can share each other. If the powerful trio can't strike an accord, not only will Nadia's mission potentially get derailed, but the three will be unable to compensate for the changes in their magic that their union has sparked. With Nadia being psychically linked to the rest of the Af tama clan, she can't afford to lose control. None of them can.

Although her sister has pulled up stakes and moved her family to the psychic community of Norseton, Marty Petersen doesn't believe she'll fit in with them. She belongs in familiar Florida, and not in the desert amidst a clan of thoroughly modern Vikings. Af tama clansman Chris Holst doesn't agree. He's been dreaming of Marty for nearly a year and knows she's meant to be his. He doesn't want her to leave Norseton before he's had his chance to bond with her in the way of their kind, but he understands why she'd be afraid. Her father is the clan's most notorious fraud, and the blowback from his imminent expulsion could upset the single mom's already shaky situation. He's willing to stand at her side and hold her hand until the turmoil subsides, but she has to let him into her life first. If Marty can't break free from the depressive grip of the lies that have suppressed her for so many years, she won't be able to take what's hers. She could wield the magic of the Af tama, and more importantly, she could claim the worthy man who is rightfully hers. _________ The Viking's Witch was first published in entirety in the Vikings Wild anthology. Also available in The Af tama Legacy: -The Viking Queen's Men -The Chieftain's Daughter -Viking's Pride (novella) -Viking Flame

I wrote the first words of this novel in 1972 after taking my grandmother to her childhood home in the Tug Valley of southern West Virginia. When we got back to Charleston, where she had raised her family of three children, she gave me a little paperback book titled Mingo County History. It was in that local history that I first read of the Matewan Massacre. I began immediately imagining her childhood along the Tug River and the history of the Tug Valley, Matewan, and the Battle of Blair Mountain. There was not a lot of information available about the Tug Valley and the Mine Wars in 1972. Now, mostly published in the last decade, there are many books, fiction and non-fiction, that provide an accurate history of southern West Virginia. For 45 years I have written and rewritten The Road to Matewan. The first draft, finished in 1975, was twice as long as the present version. I persevered because the story of the mountaineers of southern West Virginia was so important and needed to be told to the world. There will be readers of The Road to Matewan who first encounter this history in my book. Spreading this history is my intent. Appalachia, its coalfields, and especially the Tug Valley, are an American tragedy. When the liars and thieves representing the land and coal companies set about stealing the land from its pioneer owners, no one could have envisioned the feudal state that would be imposed upon the mountaineers of West Virginia. I know how important the history of the Tug Valley is to me, and I have seen how important that history is to the people who were uprooted, and to the descendents of those who stayed. Therefore, The Road to Matewan.

Dasha Maurice isn't in the market for a serious relationship, much less one with one of the leather-wearing fairies residing at her best friend's beach motel. Sure, Ethan Gotch is built like a linebacker and tongue-numbingly sexy, but he's also a smidge intense and has a pesky ex who insists he's her fated mate. He's not. He's Dasha's. Being the only human in the fairy clique makes Dasha the perfect little soldier to play messenger in the fairy realm. She can't be detected by raging Queen Rhiannon's magic, and can help pull more oppressed S dhe to freedom. The realm is collapsing and the people need a way out. When Ethan's ex pulls a stunt causing Dasha to get stuck in the realm, she starts to believe she was right keeping her distance from the fairy, but that's the least of her concerns. If Dasha can't accept what it means to be the mate of a shapeshifting fairy knight and work a little magic of her own, the two may never make it home alive.

If Saul Ade had known that stepping into his sister's life would make him a player in the goddess Allendra's unforgiving game, he would have never left the shadows. If he doesn't accept the mate she has chosen for him by the rise of the next blood moon, the S dhe will become human. Unfortunately, the woman he must make his love is a mermaid who once tried to drown his sister's human best friend. If he'd wanted a mate at all, reckless Laurel O'Cuilinn wouldn't be it. Laurel's devastated to learn that Saul would rather cede Allendra's challenge than to be with her, but she's too practical to sulk. Four weeks isn't much time to make Saul cast aside his grudges, and she'll do what she must to help the S dhe retain their magic-even if it means turning on some of the mermaid charm her fated mate finds so repugnant. Allendra's not the only one who can play games. But unlike the goddess, Laurel plans to play for love-not with it.

In Pictures Your Heart Remembers, family expert Dr. John Trent shows how "pictures" of the good and bad things in our lives not only find their way into our hearts but also affect how we view ourselves, how we treat others, and even how we relate to God. These pictures, writes Trent, "affect the way we think, the way we feel, and the way we perceive the world."

And She Danced For The King: Memoirs of a Rockette covers the 10-year career of Peggy Morrison, a professional dancer in the 1930s. It tells the story of an ordinary, but driven young woman who followed her dream and 'made it' in show business without compromising her family's values. Taken largely from letters written to her family throughout her career, the book chronicles a fascinating and unique time in the entertainment industry, the ten years preceding World War II. Peggy Morrison was an actual participant in many intriguing events that took place in the 1930s. She survived the depression, lived and worked in Paris when World War II was erupting, and narrowly missed being summoned by Hitler to Berlin. Written by Ro Trent Vaselaar, the niece of Peg Morrison Macherey, Vaselaar began this project as a way to preserve the stories for her family, but quickly realized that it was a story worth sharing.
