The Greatest Templar Tale Never Told: The Sinclair/Weymss Journals

Spanning 417 years from the first entry in 1353 to the last in 1770, the Sinclair/ Wemyss journals tell the personal stories of how fifteen generations within two Scottish clans completed a sacred mission to establish a sanctuary in the lands "far to the west." That mission was to bring Templar treasures that disappeared from France on October 13, 1307 to North America to be used to help fund the "Free Templar State" that would become the United States of America. Comprised of twenty books written in Latin, Old, and Modern English, the stories told are not only enthralling and amazing, but give a deep look at the truth of the mission our Founding Fathers called the "Covenant."
Codices illustres. The world's most famous illuminated manuscripts 400 to 1600
From The Book of Kells to Boccaccio’s Decameron, from the Vienna Genesis to Dante’s Divine Comedy: to open Codices illustres is to open the door into a precious, private world. Now in a revised format, this radiant book brings you face-to-face with 167 of the most exquisite and important manuscripts of the medieval age. Presented in brilliant large-format reproductions, these paradigms of miniature painting and illumination from the 4th century to 1600 were once the property of some of the greatest power players in history. Now art-historical treasures, they are worth many millions and typically tucked away in private collections or closely guarded archives—until now. Although the focus of this collection is on European manuscripts, examples from Mexican, Persian, and Indian tradition illustrate the refinement and intricacy of manuscript illumination in non-European cultures. An informative synopsis for each manuscript orients the reader at a glance, while a 36-page appendix contains biographies of the artists, as well as an extensive bibliography, an index, and a glossary for technical terms.

Cryptic Code

Third in the Hooked X series, this book explores new scientific findings and recently discovered documents that show a vastly different story of North American history than the current narrative. The revelations in the Cryptic Code are sure to generate new discussion around the medieval Knights Templar, their role in the European exploration of North America, and of the origins of the Hooked X. In Wolter's continued pursuit to understand and authenticate the Kensington Rune Stone, found in Minnesota in 1898, and the important role the Knights Templar had within history, he uncovers the layers of cryptic code that authenticates the Rune Stone once and for all.

First Published in 1953, Geography from the Air is the first book in English to explain and illustrate fully the use of air photographs in the study of geography. It sets out in simple form the limited amount of technical information which is necessary in order to enjoy fully the fascinating experience of training oneself to appreciate almost every aspect of the landscape shown on vertical air photographs. Thereafter the book consists of nearly 100 high quality air photographs, selected from almost every part of Britain, each of which is accompanied by a text describing in detail the features of general, as well as of geographical, interest which can be detected on the photographic prints. The photographs have been grouped into sections detailing with many aspects of physical and human geography, such as the influence of geology on landforms, river erosion and river development, glacial action, coast forms, the relationships between relief and settlement, the appearance of varying agricultural and industrial regions and the shape and character of towns and villages etc. Apart from the explanation of this new geographical technique the selection of photographs is such that this book should serve as a valuable source of illustrative material for the study of the geography of Britain and the systematic treatment of physical and human geography.

Samuel Johnson (of Boswell fame) said about writing, ‘whatever is written without effort is in general read without pleasure’ and ‘the unexamined word is not worth reading.’ However, even the most thoughtfully written text is unlikely to be described as a good read. This book is not an exhaustive review. Rather it is an uneven selection of examples whose interplay across disciplines hopefully illuminates what drives the practice of forest production, wood processing and consumer preferences. The choice of material is arbitrary reflecting personal biases. It is a summary of material presented to students at the NZ School of Forestry at the University of Canterbury. This book takes liberties with other peoples’ ideas, weaving them into fresh themes that are at best a work in progress. The philosopher Francis Bacon argued that ‘science is a debate in progress not a body of knowledge’ and also ‘truth emerges more readily from error than confusion’. We have taken the position that it is preferable to venture a reasoned opinion and be proved wrong than to waffle; so don’t swallow every sentence – ‘doubt everything’. The reader’s task is to unravel the conceits of generalizing and the risks of particularizing.
