The August Revolution has a long lasting impact in the Indian History. Whether it is the farthest entity or weakest link on national arena, or last man standing on the periphery of country-society, or else, August Revolution of 1942 took the hooks to achieve independence in 1947, consequently India emerged a new independent country to the world. It was the call to 'Quit India' and the movement spreading throughout India in the form of August Revolution of 1942, which set the unique paradigm to the anti-imperialist struggle in Indian history. By then it was a spontaneous movement of ordinary Indians for the unarmed proclaimed imperialist freedom to gain independence against British rule. 'Call to Quit India' was symbolically circulated invisibly from the Proposed outline of August Proposal by Gandhiji. In the same order, the first and the most influential peak of the wave arising for truth-justice and social equality was the establishment of 'Sovereign Republic of Ballia' in 1942. Establishment of 'Sovereign Republic of Ballia' is the imperishable everlasting source of vociferous rebellion against injustice for every countryman. Undoubtedly, even in the coming days, it will remain with the same gravity.

August Kibler's Stories for Tyler
Was it a chance meeting in the Daisy Cafe that brought Tyler Jemison and his boys into August Kibler's life, or was it the mysterious workings of Tyler's grandmother, Momma Daisy? In this companion book to the novel As the Daisies Bloom, August shares with Tyler a life's thoughts on what he would call his tiny systematic theology. What might Eve say after millennia of being the first scapegoat? What might the first and last wives of the great king say to us if we read between the lines? How can we walk a bit with Joseph as he rides with Mary into Bethlehem? And what does Philip have to say to the black Eunuch, and to us about church membership?Journey with the author as he imagines what we might have overlooked in the Bible stories that we teach our children. He shows how reimagining these people in voices for our time can bring to life each of these important guides, who could never have imagined how they would shape 2,000 years of Christianity, and how they can still transform us.

The year 1791. A famous Venetian doctor, illegitimate son of the German opera singer Dorothea Nacht and the Spanish aristocrat Duke de Valsombra, after the death of his ailing mother, goes to distant Cantabria to personally convey the sad news to his father, and to claim his birth-rights. He comes to the masquerade ball, given by the prince on the occasion of his seventieth birthday. In the garden, he meets by chance his brother C sar, the Marquis de Viciosa and officially the only son of the prince. Rejected by his father, August Nacht vows revenge on him and his entire family. He goes to the old forest where Iduna lives, a woman gifted with great intelligence and a rare gift of telepathy. She once saved his and his mother's life. Just as August wants to take revenge on the prince for the harm he suffered so does she...From that day, Augustus' odyssey begins in a strange and mysterious land of forests, streams and ghosts, in which Celtic traditions and beliefs are still alive, in a world to which he himself belongs, but which he is afraid of and does not fully understand.

August Bebel (1840-1913) was one of the towering figures of late nineteenth century European socialism and the leading figure of the German labour movement from the 1860s until his death in 1913. Born into a modest family, and a half-orphan from the age of four, his advancement to a pivotal role in the politics of Imperial Germany mirrored the success of German social democracy in this period. Bebel was not only the founder and first leader of the Social Democratic Workers Party of Germany (SDAP), a political movement that became the largest socialist party in nineteenth-century Europe, but he was also a powerful orator and leading member of the German parliament. He was described by contemporaries as the ‘king of the German workers’ and the ‘shadow emperor’ of Germany. In this biography, Jürgen Schmidt situates Bebel’s life and career in the political, social and cultural history of modern Europe. He also provides an overview of the growth of the labour movement and working class political activism in late-nineteenth century Germany. This is an essential biography of one of Germany’s most influential and unique politicians, living at a time of great political, social and industrial change in Europe.

Torn apart by the experience and her emotions running wild, she turns to the comfort of a stranger, a man who isn't what she thought him to be. Now, Lia must struggle through the trauma she has suffered and the consequences of the choices she has made to free herself from the shadows haunting her.
August Wilson: A Life

August Wilson: A Life

Patti Hartigan

Simon Schuster Audio

The first authoritative biography of August Wilson, the most important and successful American playwright of the late 20th century, by a theater critic who knew him.August Wilson wrote a series of ten plays celebrating African American life in the 20th century, one play for each decade. No other American playwright has completed such an ambitious oeuvre. Two of the plays became successful films, Fences, starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis; and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, starring Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman. Fences and The Piano Lesson won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama; Fences won the Tony Award for Best Play, and years after Wilson's death in 2005, Jitney earned a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. Through his brilliant use of vernacular speech, Wilson developed unforgettable characters who epitomized the trials and triumphs of the African American experience. He said that he didn't research his plays but wrote from "the blood's memory," a sense of racial history that he believed African Americans shared. Author and theater critic Patti Hartigan traced his ancestry back to slavery, and his plays echo with uncanny similarities to the history of his ancestors. She interviewed Wilson many times before his death and traces his life from his childhood in Pittsburgh (where nine of the plays take place) to Broadway. She also interviewed scores of friends, theater colleagues and family members, and conducted extensive research to tell the story of a writer who left an indelible imprint on American theater and opened the door for future playwrights of color.
