La presente investigaci n aborda el tema del consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en adolescentes dentro del contexto educativo; su objetivo es determinar a trav s de la aplicaci n de dos instrumentos las variables psicosociales con mayor prevalencia al consumo de SPA; uno de los instrumentos es el Sistema de Vigilancia Epidemiol gica del abuso de sustancias psicoactivas (VESPA), que mide el tipo de sustancia, la prevalencia, el tiempo de inicio, variables sociodemogr ficas: Edad, estrato socio-econ mico y nivel de escolaridad. Por su parte, el prop sito de la encuesta tipo likert es identificar los factores psicosociales de riesgo frente al consumo. Esta investigaci n pretende contribuir a otras investigaciones, as como al sector educativo, social, familiar y al fortalecimiento desde el campo de la psicolog a. A partir de los resultados ayudara a la formulaci n de programas preventivos que contribuyan a la disminuci n del consumo de SPA y con ello, se creen factores protectores frente a aquellas variables de riesgo que conllevan a los adolescentes a entrar en esta problem tica.
