The Miracle of Hsin Tao: The Easy Way to Self-Healing and Long Life
Hsin Tao is a regenerative and self-healing technique. This surprisingly simple and easy technique was maintained in secrecy for almost 1400 years in China. Considered a treasure that often restored health miraculously, whilst balancing emotions, and enabling deep, fulfilling automatic meditation, it was protected and disseminated to only a few. Ratziel Bander was taught Hsin Tao - 'The Way of the Gods' - expressly to release this extraordinary gift to the Western public. We follow his recovery from severe illness, as well as other personal stories of diverse lives being improved or healed through the Miracle of Hsin Tao.

I remember the day. I was sitting at my table paying bills when my son walked up to me and asked me what I see now to be a life-changing question. He asked, "Is this it for you, Mom? Is this all there is?"I recall thinking it was a little rude and pretty much dismissing it. At least, I thought I did. the truth is, those words slowly seeped under my skin. Over the next few weeks, it led me to ask an even more important question. Who am I? If you asked me that question, I would probably answer that I am married, have two children, and work two part-time jobs. But this was not what I was asking myself, nor was that the answer I was looking for. After some serious reflection and confusion, I was left with a sobering answer. The truth is, I had a real issue identifying who I was. That was a scary and sad moment for me that I did not choose to share with anyone. The truth is, we all identify ourselves through others to some extent, but what happens when we totally lose ourselves in others? The question my son asked me was so simple, yet profound, because it was really asking me who I was when I stood alone. I began to put my thoughts and feelings about this on paper as sort of a self-therapy which, ultimately, led to the writing of this book. My hope is that we all ask this question of ourselves. It does not matter if you are a man or a woman, young or old. It is a process I am still working through today. Your journey may be different, and so may your views, but the question remains the same. There were quite a few tears and smiles sprinkled through this book, and that is exactly how I knew what is in this book is real and true for me.So let's take a trip back a bit to discover when you checked out and others checked in-more importantly, what God saw in you as a reason to place you on this earth. It was not an accident or by chance but was with a divine purpose in mind. We owe it to ourselves and, ultimately, to Him to uncover the mystery and the gifts He placed inside each and every one of us.

Quasiconformal Surgery in Holomorphic Dynamics

Quasiconformal Surgery in Holomorphic Dynamics

Bodil Branner; Núria Fagella

Cambridge University Press

Since its introduction in the early 1980s quasiconformal surgery has become a major tool in the development of the theory of holomorphic dynamics, and it is essential background knowledge for any researcher in the field. In this comprehensive introduction the authors begin with the foundations and a general description of surgery techniques before turning their attention to a wide variety of applications. They demonstrate the different types of surgeries that lie behind many important results in holomorphic dynamics, dealing in particular with Julia sets and the Mandelbrot set. Two of these surgeries go beyond the classical realm of quasiconformal surgery and use trans-quasiconformal surgery. Another deals with holomorphic correspondences, a natural generalization of holomorphic maps. The book is ideal for graduate students and researchers requiring a self-contained text including a variety of applications. It particularly emphasises the geometrical ideas behind the proofs, with many helpful illustrations seldom found in the literature.

"In a time when women are faced with many outside demands--career, family, community--this book will give them the tools and inspiration needed to remain grounded. A must read!" --Barbara McFarland, psychologist and author of My Mother Was Right Based on the intimate stories of women who have struggled with issues of self-esteem, this invaluable book offers step-by-step guidance for women who want to transform themselves and create lives that are powerful, energized, and motivated. A Woman's Self-Esteem is also a guide for helping women learn the impact they can make on their own lives and how their positive actions will result in a stronger sense of competence and self-worth. A pioneer in the field of self-esteem, psychotherapist Nathaniel Branden explains that the foundation of a healthy self-esteem rests on six key practices or virtues--living consciously, self-acceptance, self-responsibility, self-assertiveness, purposeful living, and personal integrity--and reveals how women can cultivate these essential virtues to reach their full potential. The author's inspiring, real-life vignettes show how women have come to terms with these complex issues by breaking away from self-sabotaging patterns and taking the necessary steps to create more satisfying lives. In A Woman's Self-Esteem, Branden debunks common myths and reminds us that self-esteem is not a gift given to us by others. Branden offers a revealing examination of the special issues that women grapple with including romantic love, jealousy, fear of selfishness, expressing anger, defensiveness, and success anxiety. Filled with creative exercises, A Woman's Self Esteem was developed to enhance personal development and fortify self-esteem.
Baroque Self-Invention and Historical Truth

Baroque Self-Invention and Historical Truth

Christopher Braider

In his monumental study, Christopher Braider explores the dialectical contest between history and truth that defines the period of cultural transition called the 'baroque'. For example, Annibale Carracci's portrayal of the Stoic legend of Hercules at the Crossroads departs from earlier, more static representations that depict an emblematic demigod who has already rejected the fallen path of worldly Pleasure for the upward road of heroic Virtue. Braider argues that, in breaking with tradition in order to portray a tragic soliloquist whose dominant trait is agonized indecision, Carracci joins other baroque artists, poets and philosophers in rehearsing the historical dilemma of choice itself. Carracci's picture thus becomes a framing device that illuminates phenomena as diverse as the construction of gender in baroque painting and science, the Pauline ontology of art in Caravaggio and Rembrandt, the metaphysics of baroque soliloquy and the dismantling of Cartesian dualism in Cyrano de Bergerac and Pascal.
