If you're like many of Excel's 750 million users, you want to do more with your data-like repeating similar analyses over hundreds of files, or combining data in many files for analysis at one time. This practical guide shows ambitious non-programmers how to automate and scale the processing and analysis of data in different formats-by using Python. After author Clinton Brownley takes you through Python basics, you'll be able to write simple scripts for processing data in spreadsheets as well as databases. You'll also learn how to use several Python modules for parsing files, grouping data, and producing statistics. No programming experience is necessary. Create and run your own Python scripts by learning basic syntax Use Python's csv module to read and parse CSV files Read multiple Excel worksheets and workbooks with the xlrd module Perform database operations in MySQL or with the mysqlclient module Create Python applications to find specific records, group data, and parse text files Build statistical graphs and plots with matplotlib, pandas, ggplot, and seaborn Produce summary statistics, and estimate regression and classification models Schedule your scripts to run automatically in both Windows and Mac environments

"Blades & Axes" the first book in the "Birth of Legends Series," is the story of two young men answering the needs of their individual peoples. In doing so, starting on the road to become the Legends they're destined to be. The 'Forest Kingdoms' are one small nest of "civilized" human communities; within the vastly untamed landscape of the world known, in ancient times, as Ned . The forest that provides all of the 'kingdoms' with their; food, homes, and livelihoods; also protects them from a vast number of unknown dangers. However, within the forest there are still many dangers from both humans and beasts. The Kingdom of Middlewood is so named for the fact that it has always been surrounded by enemies. On their northern border there's the Kanspraen Empire. The Legions of Kansprae are known throughout the Forest Kingdoms as being some of the most experienced and feared soldiers in the land. The Emperor sends his legions down into Middlewood regularly; to seize land as well as capture slaves from the frontier communities that pop up in the, as yet 'untamed, ' North-West Passage of the kingdom. Knights, Ladies, Nobles, Kings, Assassins, Swordsmen, Bards, Clansmen, Scholars, Woodsmen, Craftsmen, Masters, and Apprentices, Farmers and Inn Keepers, and many more; all inhabit the strangely familiar yet oddly alien domain of the Forest Kingdoms. The Academy of the Crimson Sash creates expert, and better, swordsmen (& women) that have more than the ability to fight with blades. They are intelligent, polite, learned, women and men; who have been taught to serve the poor and protect the weak. Saxon graduated from the Academy a mere few months ago; now he will face battle and destruction while life and death are both within his grasp. His life will not be the same after he puts himself 'to the hazard, ' for the people of Middlewood. The Cougar clan, of Mountain Tribesmen, is a very fierce and legendary clan. Even amongst the "wall builders" of the Forest Kingdoms, the Cougars are historically known to be thus. Sometimes enemies, but usually allies in the fights with other kingdoms; Middlewood has enjoyed a long time relationship with the clan. Now, a young Cougar Warrior by the name of A'Kree is at a point of testing in his life. How and what he does during this time can and will affect not only his life, or death, but that of his people as well. Those two vastly different young men are thrust into their peoples' struggle to survive. Will they have the mettle to step into the mantle of, 'hero' Then wear that mantle into the future lives of their people, and so allowing themselves to be forged into something they may not want; but have been born to become?...read "Blades & Axes: Birth of Legends, Book 1" and find out. "Heads are severed, limbs are hewn, bodies turn instantly to dust, and corpses fall limp; as the two heroes of the North-West Passage stop evil cold."

Writing Virtual Environments for Software Visualization book describes the software for a networked, 3D multi-user virtual environment that allows users to create and share remotely visualizations of program behavior. Collaborative virtual environments such as World of Warcraft or Second Life are a popular way to share interactive internet experiences, but they are complex and difficult to create. Software visualization is an area that may enable important advances in our ability to understand and reduce the costs of maintaining software. Applying the former technology to this problem area will be valuable to distributed and multi-institutional software development and educational users. The author covers the major features of collaborative virtual environments and how to program them in a very high level language. The book also examines the application of popular game-like software technologies.

He was formed by the Holy Ghost in the Virgin Mother's womb. How do we contemplate so pro-found a Mystery, which we are before? This silent Mystery we are before, the Eternal Word of God can be understood from the reflection of one of the First Century Bishops: Eph. 19.1 (AF-E) if Now the virginity of Mary and her giving birth were hidden from the ruler of this age, as was also the death of the Lord-three mysteries to be loudly proclaimed, yet which were accom-plished in the silence of God. Ignatius of Antioch, Letter to the Ephesians, 19:2] Here St. Ignatius does three things. First, he outlines the profound Mystery of the Word of God when he says, 'the virginity of Mary.' This Mystery of faith from the first century of the Church has relevance for us when we come before the Blessed Eucharist. Secondly, he indicates that not only was Mary a Virgin, but also that it was a great Mystery to the early Christians that 'her giving birth, ' to the Son of God, was deemed a miracle of God. One early poet named Sedulius praised the Virgin Birth in what has become a famous hymn to Christ:

The psalmist ask this question because he is awe-struck at the incredulity of these people who raise themselves up against the Lord of glory. He doesn't refer to one person but a nation of protesters. Is it possible that so many people could try to find fault against God? Yet, many people think that if there are enough people who turn against God, then God will change, but that is a fantasy. See how many have turned against God since the beginning of human history, even since the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Has God changed? No See how many have left the Church and started so many denominations, causing disunity in the One Church of God. Has God changed? No Why do they protest? They protest because they do not have the faith to see that God is Love and that unless he were love, neither could they protest nor exist. By their existence he shows his power, by allowing them to protest he shows his mercy and patience.

2022 Choice Outstanding Academic Title Shortlisted for the 2023 Saskatchewan Book Award for Scholarly WritingCree and Christian develops and applies new ethnographic approaches for understanding the reception and indigenization of Christianity, particularly through an examination of Pentecostalism in northern Alberta. Clinton N. Westman draws on historical records and his own long-term ethnographic research in Cree communities to explore questions of historical change, cultural continuity, linguistic practices in ritual, and the degree to which Indigenous identity is implicated by Pentecostal commitments. Such complexity calls for constant negotiation and improvisation, key elements of Pentecostal worship and speech strategies that have been compared to jazz modes. The historical sweep of Cree and Christian considers the dynamics of Pentecostal conversion in relation to the strengths and weaknesses of other denominations and the underlying foundation of Cree cosmological worldviews. Pentecostalism has remained open to recognizing the power of spirits while also benefiting from its own essential flexibility. Pentecostals often seek to gain a degree of temporal and spiritual autonomy and authority that may not have seemed possible under previous Christian practices or Cree traditions.Cree and Christian is the first book to provide a fully historicized account of Indigenous Pentecostalism, connecting contemporary religious practices and pluralism to historical Pentecostal, Evangelical, Catholic, and mainstream Protestant missions since the nineteenth century. By tracing religious practices and discourses since the 1890s, Westman paints a picture of the transformations and encounters from the earliest conversions (and resistance) to today’s pluralistic, mediatized, and bilingual religious landscape.
