This book informs politicians in Africa and the developing world about the importance of taking their cultures into account for effective leadership in their countries. Every country has its own culture. National culture identifies and determines the inhabitants of each country. There is no such thing as a universal culture. A country that disregards its culture will end up living under an export culture, losing its identity and leading a life of mental slavery. It's national policy that runs the country. Respect and consideration for the national culture should channel all actions in the national interest and for the social and economic well-being of the population. National politics should turn away from the mania for copying foreign cultures if it hopes to survive in this ever-changing digital world.

This book is about psychosis as I know it: phenomena, accessing the impact of the phenomena, and the development of the coping mechanisms, and tactics, to alleviate the impact. Tactics include the defect and workaround components. As for defects, they are not equivalent to symptoms, but the severe weaknesses manifested in the form of symptoms. The workarounds have been used to manage the defects while keeping myself out of the psychiatric ward. I offer these as examples and hope they might be of help to someone, somehow. Following the narrative described above is a more scientific approach where I examine my functioning in the context of several academic models of brain functioning. With an n=1 and no way to tease out the effects of aging, I cannot offer any solid conclusions. But I can hope that you might find something useful in your understanding of what went wrong with me. After years of living with my psychosis, my private psychotic model eventually emerged. It is an experiment to illustrate my mental model of how my psychosis works. It is grounded in human development with a focus on human cognition. It is raw-how my head would like it to be. It could be refined. But it is what I can offer so far. In addition, my head forbade me to read anything targeting the psychotic population. Whether good or bad, my head dictated the content, the format, and the language used in this half-baked model that I cooked up in my backyard.
THE WORLD ACCORDING TO HONEY BEAR Honey Bear, the author of this book, is the service dog for co-author Catherine Rodr guez, Ed.D. Catherine is not only Honey Bear's "People Mom," she is also a Parkinson's Disease patient and active in advocacy work for the Parkinson's Association of San Diego. This book was written to teach children about Parkinson's, and about the close and helping relationship between a patient and her service dog - essential for companionship, assistance in regulating movement, and providing daily routines for the person with Parkinson's. The book is meant to be shared and read with children. It is rich with photographs of Honey Bear, and full of notable quotations about dogs. Although most of it can be read by a child past the earliest stage of reading, some concepts such as patient advocacy and neurodegenerative diseases will need to be explained. Honey Bear describes her daily routine, as well as how she has helped her "people family" in some emergency situations. Chapter titles like "Presidents and Their Dogs," "Things I Love and Hate," and "My First Plane Trip" indicate the breadth of information this book contains - offered in an intimate first-person voice, dog to child. All children will enjoy reading about the adventures of Honey Bear. However, children with someone in their life who suffers from a neurodegenerative disease like Parkinson's will be especially touched. This book is an excellent tool for beginning the difficult discussion of how, and why, their family member is changing. As Honey Bear says: I hope that this book will inspire people with Parkinson's to get a dog. We are the best medicine- better than anything the neurologists prescribe. All proceeds from the sale of this book are donated by the authors to the Parkinson's Association of San Diego.
Book summary The Secret Storm: A True Story of Survival This is a story that shocked the nation and the world This book, The Secret Storm, portrays the true and vivid accounts of extraordinary circumstances as told by a father, Dale Berne, and a son, Scott Berne. When the author gained legal custody of his two sons, his ex-wife hired a hit man to kill him, burned down their family home, absconded with the family bank account, created personal and professional discrimination at Dale Berne's place of work, and parentally kidnapped their two sons, Scott and Mark, taking them on a two-year dangerous journey to five countries and thirteen residences while simultaneously catapulting Dale Berne into an unprecedented search culminating with national and international notoriety and mainstream media attention. The voices of Dale and Scott Berne jump off each page as they struggle to cope with the emotional roller coaster of events and their efforts to swim out of the turbulent waters of disaster and into a tranquil stream of a stable family environment. "From victims to survivors." There are several hundred-thousand parental abductions in the United States each year. There are more than several hundred-thousand parental abductions worldwide each year (not all countries report their cases). We, the authors, expect that this book will be one of the most emotional and insightful works that you will ever read because it is so much more than a case of parental abduction. The events portrayed in this true story have affected deeply each person who has been catapulted into the swirl of the secret storm-the attorneys, the district attorney, the family court judges, the social workers, the law guardian, the psychiatrists, the family physician, the neighbors, the schoolteachers, the school board members, and of course, the family members of three generations.

How all this is possible becomes the riveting adventures bouncing off each page of Miracle Pitch. Dale Berne, the author, throws as many fastballs and curveballs at the reader as David Moore does from the pitcher's mound.
