Florence Louisa Barclay (2 December 1862 - 10 March 1921) was an English romance novelist and short story writer. She was born Florence Louisa Charlesworth in Limpsfield, Surrey, England, the daughter of the local Anglican rector. One of three girls, she was a sister to Maud Ballington Booth, the Salvation Army leader and co-founder of the Volunteers of America. When Florence was seven years old, the family moved to Limehouse in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. In 1881, Florence Charlesworth married the Rev. Charles W. Barclay and honeymooned in the Holy Land, where, in Shechem, they reportedly discovered Jacob's Well, the place where, according to the Gospel of St John, Jesus met the woman of Samaria (John 4-5). Florence Barclay and her husband settled in Hertford Heath, in Hertfordshire, where she fulfilled the duties of a rector's wife. She became the mother of eight children. In her early forties health problems left her bedridden for a time and she passed the hours by writing what became her first romance novel titled The Wheels of Time. Her next novel, The Rosary, a story of undying love, was published in 1909 and its success eventually resulted in its being translated into eight languages and made into five motion pictures, also in several languages. According to the New York Times, the novel was the No.1 bestselling novel of 1910 in the United States. The enduring popularity of the book was such that more than twenty-five years later, Sunday Circle magazine serialized the story and in 1926 the prominent French playwright Alexandre Bisson adapted the book as a three-act play for the Parisian stage. Florence Barclay wrote eleven books in all, including a work of non-fiction. Her novel The Mistress of Shenstone (1910) was made into a silent film of the same title in 1921. Her short story Under the Mulberry Tree appeared in the special issue called "The Spring Romance Number" of the Ladies Home Journal of 11 May 1911. Florence Barclay died in 1921 at the age of fifty-eight. The Life of Florence Barclay: a study in personality was published anonymously that year by G. P. Putnam's Sons "by one of Her Daughters." SECOND IN THE SERIESSECOND EDITION: In Book One, Eva introduced our friends and now Fynn begins their stories.Fynn's Story: When I was young, I knew what I wanted and had a plan to get there...then I met my ex-husband. He derailed my life. I've just been existing with unappreciative bosses and an inconsiderate boyfriend. As life passes me by, I've been raising my twelve-year-old daughter the best I can. At the oddest moment, I realize that this life is not what I want for her. Something has to change, so I gather the strength and make that call to get my life back on track. Book Two Excerpt: "You know they have signals to each other?" I asked Eva as I stood at the bathroom mirror fixing my hair for dinner."Yeah, I noticed that too." She stepped out of the shower. "But, then again, so do we.""True, but we have a good reason...what could their reason be?""Right now, I'm not sure. It's like they don't want anyone to know their personal lives...like they are trying to be incognito.""Travis said they come out here once a month during the summer...so other people here know them.""Well, let's go that direction." She disappeared into the bedroom."What do you mean?""I haven't had a chance to ask any of the employees here about them. So I'll start working on that.""What do you want me to do?""Wear these..." She walked in holding a little piece of blue lace."Those?" I raised a brow."Wear these panties, this matching bra, and the white and blue flowered dress.""Oh, pretty " I eagerly took the panties from her and slid them on then looked in the mirror in disappointment. "They don't cover my butt "Eva roared in laughter. "They aren't supposed to They hug the top which emphasizes the roundness of the bottom. I wiggled my hips, "These are sexy...I've never worn anything like them.""Put the bra on."It felt like Christmas, I was so excited. The bra lifted my boobs and slightly pushed them together. They looked extremely plump."Damn " Eva grinned in agreement, "It's almost a shame to hide those boobs and butt cheeks.""This is so fun." My eyes sparkled as I looked at my image in the mirror. The lacy blue panties and bra were the sexiest things I had ever worn.
This book contains detailed instructions on building the F-35B Lightning II 1/48 scale model aircraft from Kitty Hawk. This book covers VERSION 2.0 of the model. If the box on your model kit does not say Version 2.0 then you need my other book for the initial version. A spiral bound version is also available on my website. (glennhoovermodels.com) The F-35 Fighter Aircraft has three versions. The F-35A is for the Air Force. The F-35C is for the Navy and has a longer wing span that can fold for carrier operations. The F-35B is for the Marines and can perform vertical takeoffs and landings. The F-35B Model is the most complex if you want to display its VSTOL capability that has many open access panels. I take the model kit instructions from Kitty Hawk and break them up into individual steps. I reorder the steps so that the small pieces (antennas, etc.) are assembled last which reduces the risk of damage when building the model. The steps are organized to insert the paint and decal steps in the best spot. This book provides a little history of the F-35B, photos of the model kit contents including the photo etch frets, a detailed list of tools that I used to build this model, along with a list of paints. The actual instruction section contains 649 steps that tells you what to dry fit, glue, and/or paint for each individual piece. Each step instruction shows the source (section) along with a block for you to mark that you completed the step. If the last column contains an X, that means there's a photo in the back with more details about the step. The major instruction sequence for this model is 1.Ejection Seat & Ladder (Build) 2.Instrument Panels 3.Nose Gear Wheel Well 4.Engine 5.Engine Exhaust Nozzle (Build) 6.Main Landing Gear Wheel Wells 7.Lower Lift Fan Intake 8.Fuselage and Wings Assembly, Paint, and Decals 9.Internal Weapons 10.Nose and Main Landing Gear 11.Engine Exhaust Nozzle (Install) 12.Doors (Flare/Chaff, Engine Exhaust, Weapons Bay) 13.Doors (Nose and Main Landing Gear) 14.External Missiles 15.Vent and Lift Fan Doors (Top) 16.Tails (Decals) 17.Speed Brake and Antenna 18.Cockpit Detail 19.Ejection Seat (Install) 20.Canopy, Pitot Tubes, & Ladder I provide an index of the individual sprue parts that show where in the book the part is mentioned. This index was a great way to make sure that no pieces were overlooked. Finally, there are several pages of in-process photos with assembly tips and the final photos of my build. This book is a great checklist to make your build go smoothly. Of course, you can feel free to use different tools, paint, weathering, etc. or even add your own diorama. It took me several weeks write the first cut of this book then another 2 months to do the actual build to test my instructions. I make tweaks to improve the instructions and add the photos. I did a lot of research and didn't see anything this detailed about a model build. Most articles or videos concentrate on parts of their build or just give a summary review. I wanted to go down to the piece level and take you thru the whole build. This is a nice tool. If you have this F-35B V2 model kit and get this book, you can dive right into the build with confidence. See a 16 page sample along with photos of finished models and other books at glennhoovermodels.com.
Ralph the Heir is a novel by Anthony Trollope, originally published in 1871. Although Trollope described it as "one of the worst novels I have written", it was well received by contemporary critics. More recently, readers have found it noteworthy for its account of a corrupt Parliamentary election, an account based closely on Trollope's own experience as a candidate. Plot: The title character is Ralph Newton, the nephew of Squire Gregory Newton of Newton Priory. The squire has never married; he has an illegitimate son, also named Ralph Newton, whom he loves dearly. However, the estate is entailed, and after his death will go to his nephew Ralph; he cannot leave it to his natural son. Ralph the heir is a spendthrift, and has run himself deep into debt. There are two ways in which he can extricate himself: by raising money on his future interest in the Newton estate, or by marrying Polly Neefit, the daughter of a wealthy breeches-maker who is one of his major creditors. Neither choice is a good one for him: the first might lead to the estate's being seized by his creditors upon the old squire's death; the second would mean allying himself to a family of a much lower social class, thus putting his own social standing at risk. The squire, anxious to obtain full possession of the estate so that he can pass it to his son, offers to buy the heir's reversion. Ralph vacillates, hesitatingly proposes to and is rejected twice by Polly Neefit, and eventually accepts his uncle's offer. However, before the transaction can be completed, the squire is killed in a hunting accident and his nephew comes into full possession of the property and its large income. Now safe from his creditors, the new squire is nevertheless harassed by Polly Neefit's father, who threatens him with legal action and embarrassing publicity if he does not continue seeking his daughter's hand. The matter is eventually resolved by Polly, who accepts the oft-repeated proposals of Ontario Moggs, son of a prosperous bootmaker, and induces her father to consent to the marriage despite his preference for the squire. In the meantime, Ralph the squire has proposed to and been rejected by Mary Bonner, the beautiful niece and ward of Sir Thomas Underwood; soon after this, she accepts an offer of marriage from the illegitimate Ralph. The novel also describes a Parliamentary election in the fictional borough of Percycross, in which Sir Thomas, a Conservative, and Moggs, a Radical, are two of the four candidates for the two available seats. Both are eager that the election be conducted fairly and honestly. The other two candidates, one a Conservative and one a Liberal, are the incumbents; they see nothing wrong with the buying and selling of votes that has been traditional at Percycross. Sir Thomas and his fellow Conservative win the election, but it is annulled on petition, and the borough is disfranchised by Parliament because of its pervasive corruption. Anthony Trollope ( 24 April 1815 - 6 December 1882) was an English novelist of the Victorian era. Among his best-known works is a series of novels collectively known as the Chronicles of Barsetshire, which revolves around the imaginary county of Barsetshire. He also wrote novels on political, social, and gender issues, and other topical matters. Trollope's literary reputation dipped somewhat during the last years of his life, but he had regained the esteem of critics by the mid-20th century. F. A.
