Lament in the Bible is a response to the reality of suffering in life. The hope of lament is that God will respond to our suffering. Lament is an act of protest, as the poet is allowed to express indignation and even outrage about the experience of suffering. Biblical lamentation poetry communicates with God and ultimately petitions him for help in the midst of pain and suffering. In that outcry, there is hope and even the manifestation of praise.

Even Though the Grass Is Greener Dirt Is There Also
My name is Dontavius Foster and in this book I give you my most vivid and lucid thoughts about how easily it is for a man to lose his way. Especially when his love falls between the two. In this case, whether or not to be in love is truly the question? Furthermore, the purpose was through love or lust. (Love under sexual trance)I'll let you decide.Unless you're willing to take a ride. Don't always expect the grass to be greener on the other side.

Writing about one's self is fraught with peril. Too much backslapping is not good. Throughout my life I have recorded events of note. This made writing my story much easier and more accurate than it might have been otherwise. I encourage everyone to do the same; recalling memories can be a rewarding experience. My story simply relates events and interactions that my journey has experienced. I feel the information might be of interest to my family and even to those who don't know me well. Hopefully you enjoy my tale and laugh without hurting yourself. I simply took advantage of my opportunities. I have tried to experience as much of the world and life as my motion sickness would allow. I am grateful to be able to tell my story. I thank all those whose have shared parts of the journey for making it what is was.The title, Write Side of the Grass, comes from my father's response to the question "How are you today?" He would reply that he was on the right side of the grass. I torqued his expression to include this narrative, (writing) about my present situation, also while on the sunny side of life. Enjoy with vigor
Social Justice at the Grass Roots

Social Justice at the Grass Roots

Marguerite Bouvard

In this book Marguerite Bouvard explores the power of working for social justice and community building at the grass roots level. An experienced scholar of American politics, Bouvard reveals that while views may clash at the federal and state level, the local level is a very important venue, where individuals and groups can create understanding between different faiths and help marginalized people feel empowered. The leaders and founders of these groups have not worked from the top down, but reached out to people at their own level to work together for positive change. Their much needed emotional and social intelligence reveals how one person can indeed make a difference when problems seem overwhelming.American may live in a divided country, yet this book reveals how our different faiths and backgrounds are able to work together on such important issues such as climate change, promoting understanding among diverse religions, and legal and social help for undocumented immigrants. It also discusses grass roots approaches to providing health care for the poor and underserved as well as how to integrate people with disabilities as productive members of society. Two of the chapters feature young people who are working with these issues. Social Justice at the Grass Roots is meant to empower young people as well as adults and help them to understand that they can make changes that bring us together. It reveals that compassion can overcome fear and misunderstanding to celebrate our diversity and argues that a different kind of power, one based on moral values, can make it possible for heterogeneous groups to progress in solving important problems in our society.

The Everglades: River of Grass

Before 1947, when Marjory Stoneman Douglas named The Everglades a "river of grass," most people considered the area worthless. She brought the world's attention to the need to preserve The Everglades. In the Afterword, Michael Grunwald tells us what has happened to them since then. Grunwald points out that in 1947 the government was in the midst of establishing the Everglades National Park and turning loose the Army Corps of Engineers to control floods--both of which seemed like saviors for the Glades. But neither turned out to be the answer. Working from the research he did for his book, The Swamp, Grunwald offers an account of what went wrong and the many attempts to fix it, beginning with Save Our Everglades, which Douglas declared was "not nearly enough." Grunwald then lays out the intricacies (and inanities) of the more recent and ongoing CERP, the hugely expensive Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan.

As war overtakes the frontier, Emma's family farmstead is attacked by Dakota-Sioux warriors; on that same prairie, Oenikika desperately tries to hold on to her calling as a healer and follow the orders of her father, Chief Little Crow. When the war is over and revenge-fueled war trials begin, each young woman is faced with an impossible choice. In a swiftly changing world, both Emma and Oenikika must look deep within and fight for the truth of their convictions - even as horror and injustice unfolds all around them. Inspired by the true story of the thirty-eight Dakota-Sioux men hanged in Minnesota in 1862 - the largest mass execution in US history - Dovetails in Tall Grass is a powerful tale of two young women connected by the fate of one man.
