The word fake is used as Fake News, Fake Leaders, and Fake People. We often call someone fake, but no one explains what defines a fake person and since every other non-fiction publication categorizes personal success formulas for improvement, the Fake Optimist talks about three fake people and how to spot them, and why we need to fire them. The Fake Optimist also talks about three types we should hire.

The Historicity of Dispensationalism
Dispensationalism did not just start with John Darby and C.I. Scofield, the doctrine of Dispensationalism goes much further down the historical track of the church then that. The concept of Dispensationalism goes all the way back to the beginning. This book is a brief exploration of the history and development of the Doctrine of Dispensationalism, along with the development of the specifics behind this doctrine. The historicity of dispensationalism is undisputed when a faithful examination is done of the facts, merits, and historical accounts of this method of theology. Dispensationalism is a belief in a system of historical progression as revealed in the Bible, consisting of a series of stages in God's selfrevelation and plan of salvation for men. This is the historic position of the church, this is the Biblical position, this is the original position of the ancient church fathers, and this is the position that our fundamental DNA is woven into.

Calvinism is a term often used to describe the system of belief of those who hold to Calvin's teaching on predestination; not everyone exactly understands Calvinism, beyond the fact they know they disagree with its belief of predestination. We are going to briefly examine Calvinism, in order to have a fuller understanding of what this belief system entails. Calvinism encompasses far more than just predestination, and there is much more a biblical fundamentalist would disagree with, then just that one doctrine. The very first point of Calvinism, the Total Depravity of Man, as the Calvinist comprehends it, is the foundation to the rest. If doubt can be placed on the validity of this first point, then the entire superstructure of Calvinism starts to fall apart. We will compare and contrast the major points of difference in Reformed and Baptist doctrine, to shed some needed light on this subject and to bring about a greater understanding of the dangers and biblical errors of Reformed doctrine and Calvinism.

His shares with you picking cotton and dates, working long hours as a lettuce tramp, driving a truck, attending welding school, dodging bullets from Sheriff's deputies, dust bowl migrants, gangsters of the time, rodeos, Indians, various other ethnic people, hobos, prostitutes, parades, poker and dice games, pickpockets, seamen, and side trips to Mexico. It also includes a collection of his poems, many of which reflect back to events and people found in his Drifting Years.

This book is about the strategic importance of NATO-Europe and why Western Europe should continue to remain the primary geographic area of importance in U.S. national security planning. It argues that making fundamental changes in U.S. security commitment to Europe would not be in U.S. interests.

This clear, balanced book explores the dilemma of Greece, the font of European civilization. Despite its classical past and EU membership, Greece has been unable to escape the limbo of being nearly developed. Illuminating the impact of borrowed western institutions on Greeces traditional culture, the authors analyze the paralyzing consequences: a political process dependent on personal relations and a civil society dominated by a highly centralized bureaucracy. State dominance, Legg and Roberts argue, has turned politics primarily into a struggle for office. This emphasis on political conflict has allowed politicians and their supporters to employ emotional nationalist rhetoric to flout democratic rules and to avoid genuine issues. Concluding that the Greek political systems nature precludes real reform, the authors show how EU opportunities for both economic and political reform have been largely lost. Unfortunately, the aspects of Greeces nearly developed status are mirrored in eastern European states with similar pasts. Indeed, the authors warn that the Greece of today may be the future of many of its neighbors. }This clear, balanced book explores the dilemma of Greece, the font of European civilization. Alternative Military Strategies for the Future
In this volume, prominent civilian and military experts in defense, representing the maritime-continental coalition, military reform, and noninterventionist schools of thought, outline the changes in military strategy, policy, and force structure that they believe the United States must adopt if it is to cope successfully with threats to national security in the 1980s and 1990s. The authors analyze US interests and objectives, the changing strategic environment, and the major security threats facing the United States in the coming decades. They also discuss what they believe is the proper mix of political, economic, and military instruments for dealing with fixture threats. The alternative strategies they present are wide-ranging and comprehensive, running the gamut from a strategic withdrawal from global commitments to proposals for increasing US power projection and forcible entry capabilities in the Third World. In many ways the chapters are critical of current and past approaches to military strategy. The authors believe it is essential that strategists understand the existing critiques of current U.S. military strategy in order to make the correct policy decisions for the future.
Nuclear Deterrence in U.S.-Soviet Relations
This book critically examines U.S. attempts to establish a nuclear deterrent against the Soviet Union and offers new approaches to dealing with the changing strategic environment. Dr. Payne maintains that the most influential theories of nuclear deterrence--Assured Vulnerability and Flexible Targeting—are unrealistic, given Soviet foreign policy and attitudes toward nuclear war, and no longer adequately meet the requirements of U.S. national security. Identifying an approach compatible with U.S. security commitments, he argues that future U.S. policy should focus on defeating the "Soviet theory of victory"--on threatening Soviet military forces and domestic and external political control assets, while also defending the U.S. against nuclear attack. The discussion covers recent developments, among them the "new nuclear strategy" of the Carter administration and President Reagan's new weapons program.

Transactional Analysis Proper—and Improper: Selected and New Papers offers a critical reading of transactional analysis (TA), which analyses, deconstructs, and reconstructs its foundational theory.Keith Tudor’s work is detailed, informative, and critical, and written with deep affection for TA and its founder, Eric Berne. Beginning with its philosophical foundations, Tudor considers TA’s ontological assumptions about the essence of human beings, its method and methodology, and its treatment philosophy. A series of chapters then review and advance TA’s theory of transactions, ego states, life scripts, and psychological games, and the book concludes with two chapters which both honor TA’s traditions and look forward to what TA might do differently. This book offers a unique ‘insider but independent’ perspective on transactional analysis. It will be essential reading for students and practitioners of transactional analysis and encourages free, independent, and critical thinking about TA and its place in the world.

Mars Learning

Keith B. Bickel

Routledge
2019
sidottu
Keith B. Bickel challenges a host of military and strategic theories that treat particular bureaucratic structures, large organizations, and elites as the progenitors of doctrine. This timely study of how the military draws lessons from interventions focuses on the overlooked role that mid-level combat officers play in creating military doctrine. Mars Learning closely evaluates Marine civil and military pacification operations in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua, and illuminates the debates surrounding the development of Marine Corps' small wars doctrine between 1915 and 1940. The result is compelling evidence of how field experience obtained before 1940 played a role in shaping the Marine Corps' Small Wars Manual and elements of doctrine that exist today. How the Marines organized lessons at that time provides important insights into how doctrine is likely to be generated today in response to post-Cold War interventions around the globe.
