Inspired by a child's crayon drawing sent to the author not long after her husband'sunexpected death, this heartfelt story is beautifully illustrated with exquisitely rendereddrawings and brilliant swathes of watercolor wash over photographic imagery.Buddy the cat was lost, and then rescued, and then found by his forever friend Uncle Kenneth. But then Uncle Kenneth was lost and Buddy could not find him. He deeply mourned UncleKenneth's sudden absence, looking for him everywhere. We know so little about the stray animals we welcome into our hearts and homes. We knoweven less about how they feel when their beloved human caretakers go missing.Depicting Buddy's journey through confusion and sadness to love again, this picture bookhelps us understand what it means for an animal companion to lose his dearest friend and, eventually, gain new dear friends, while treasuring lasting memories.Story and pictures will appeal to all ages.

Eine dieser Theorien ist der Realismus ber den Robert Wagner 2007 schrieb: "Nearly every author who wants to write something portentous about international politics either defends Realism, invents a new species of it, or uses it as a point of departure for some other "ism" that he or she wants to defend"2 Der Realismus ist eine zentrale Theorie der internationalen Politik, die entweder kritisiert oder von dieser ausgehend, eigene Ideen entwickelt werden.
Modern Architecture and the Lifeworld: Essays in Honor of Kenneth Frampton
The evolution of modern architecture has been inextricably entangled in issues of politics, nationalism, and the environment, creating a tension between local context and global development that is unresolved to this day. In this context, few writers have exerted as much influence on architectural theory and practice as Kenneth Frampton. In this illustrated volume, twenty-nine contributors from around the world amplify and pay tribute to his writing and thought. Intended for all those concerned with the built environment, this book offers further evidence of how this scholar, humanist, and teacher has shaped our understanding of the working reality of the architect. The premise of Modern Architecture and the Lifeworld is rooted in Frampton’s understanding of how architecture must engage with both cultural and constructional imperatives; and it addresses strategies for grappling with contemporary concerns such as regional identity amidst urban globalization, and tectonic culture and landform in the construction of place.Supported by the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts.
