In this "love letter to the Black Church," Dr. Lisa Allen examines the history of worship in the Black Church in America (and its legacy of equating liturgy with justice), the enduring effects of white supremacy on its liturgical heritages, and finally proffers a new liturgical paradigm, using a womanist hermeneutic, for students, liturgists, liturgical musicians, and lay people.
A thorough and groundbreaking addition to our understanding of the RFK assassination based on newly released police reports and government documents. In A Lie Too Big to Fail, longtime Kennedy researcher (of both JFK and RFK) Lisa Pease lays out, in meticulous detail, how witnesses with evidence of conspiracy were silenced by the Los Angeles Police Department; how evidence was deliberately altered and, in some instances, destroyed; and how the justice system and the media failed to present the truth of the case to the public. Pease reveals how the trial was essentially a sham, and how the prosecution did not dare to follow where the evidence led.A Lie Too Big to Fail asserts the idea that a government can never investigate itself in a crime of this magnitude. Was the convicted Sirhan Sirhan a willing participant? Or was he a mind-controlled assassin? It has fallen to independent researchers like Pease to lay out the evidence in a clear and concise manner, allowing readers to form their theories about this event. Pease places the history of this event in the context of the era and provides shocking overlaps between other high-profile murders and attempted murders of the time. Lisa Pease goes further than anyone else in proving who likely planned the assassination, who the assassination team members were, and why Kennedy was deemed such a threat that he had to be taken out before he became President of the United States.

Falling in love with the enemy has never felt so good for two women on opposite sides of a family feud. Claire Fontenot jilted her high school boyfriend, Kurt Savoy, at the altar, igniting a storm between the two families that culminated in fiercely competing hot sauce businesses. When she reluctantly returns home to a small town in Louisiana to run her aunt's antique clock shop, she doesn't exactly receive the warmest of welcomes. Ivy Savoy is Kurt's younger sister and grew up learning never to trust a Fontenot. When Ivy spots a treasured lost clock from her childhood in the window of the antique shop, she can't resist going inside. Claire and Ivy, who have every reason to hate each other, can't seem to stop feeling exactly the opposite. Falling in love is out of the question if they can't convince their families--and each other--to let go of the past.
This book is a result of revelation the Lord has given to me in the study of His Word, which includes personal study as well as learning through the teaching and preaching of my pastors. As believers in Jesus Christ we are in a war, one in which we are ultimately victorious through Him. Yet it is good to know who we are warring against and how to war. I pray you gain understanding of these things as you read this book. As a follower of Jesus Christ, I stand amazed at His faithfulness, at how awesome He is and how true He is to His Word. A life-changing verse for me has been Matthew 6:33, which states, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." He is to be first in all things, which has greatly changed my perspective on life. It's all about Him. I encourage those who read this book to go deeper into His Word and to pursue Him.

At age two years, five months, and six days, my son had a surgical procedure that forever rocked our world. This procedure resulted in the drastic loss of my son's developmental skills in seven days. Due to the severity of developmental loss, his physician made a referral to the children's hospital, in order to get a medical diagnosis to start treatment. It was during the grueling eight and a half hours before we were given a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (299.0). However, when my son's test results came back, I was told that he didn't fit the normal profile they see with children with Autism and that it was her professional opinion that my son suffered an allergic reaction to the anesthetic given, but it would be up to me to prove it. It was this phone call that has made me fighter on my son's behalf, helping him to regain developmental skills once lost, and giving me the courage to find the answers.
