The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Mới đ y c một số vị đồng tu y u cầu t i giảng lại bản văn "Th i Thượng Cảm ứng thi n," hy vọng c thể ph t s ng qua Đ i truyền h nh. Trong thực tế, kh a giảng n y cực kỳ quan trọng v thiết yếu. Hồi cuối triều Thanh, đầu thời D n quốc, Đại sư Ấn Quang đặc biệt đề cao ph p tu n y. Những năm ấy, Đại sư đang ở n i Phổ Đ , quan Tri huyện Định Hải bấy giờ l n n i lễ k nh, thỉnh Đại sư đến huyện Định Hải giảng kinh thuyết ph p. Đại sư vốn người Thiểm T y, ph t m rất nặng, n n đối với cư d n địa phương c sự kh c biệt trở ngại về ng n ngữ, liền nhờ một vị Ph p sư đến Định Hải giảng kinh. Vị Ph p sư ấy đến Định Hải giảng kinh g ? Dường như l m chất văn của Văn Xương Đế qu n. T i xem văn bản thấy được tư liệu n y th hết sức kinh ngạc.

N i c ch kh c, tự t nh l tự ng ch n thật. Người nhận hiểu vấn đề n y thật r r ng, minh bạch, đ gọi l Phật, người ấy đ th nh Phật, đ chứng quả. Chứng nghĩa l chứng minh được ch n tướng sự thật về tự ng ch n thật] n y. Điều n y đối với ph m phu m n i, quả thật tương đối rất kh nhận thức. Kh khăn n y h nh th nh từ sự m hoặc trong v lượng kiếp đ qua cho đến ng y nay, nhiều đời nhiều kiếp t ch lũy sự nhận biết sai lầm, kh ng c ch g nhất thời bu ng xả hết được. Cho n n, d Phật Tổ giảng giải hết sức r r ng, hết sức s ng tỏ, ch ng ta nghe qua cũng thừa nhận l đ ng đắn, cũng nhận hiểu kh ng sai lệch, nhưng rồi cảnh giới m lầm] vẫn y nguy n như cũ kh ng thể n o chuyển biến thay đổi. Điều n y l bởi ch ng ta kh ng thể "minh t m kiến t nh" (s ng tỏ t m thức, thấy được tự t nh), kh ng thể ngay trong một đời n y th nh tựu được điều then chốt. Do đ , trong sự tu học th cả hai yếu tố nhận hiểu v h nh tr đều phải được xem trọng như nhau. Đại sư Thanh Lương dạy rất hay: "Hữu giải v h nh, tăng trưởng t kiến; hữu h nh v giải, tăng trưởng v minh." (Nhận hiểu m kh ng h nh tr , t kiến th m lớn; h nh tr m kh ng nhận hiểu, v minh th m d y.) Đ y l lời dạy từ t m ch n thật của người trải qua tu học. Ch ng ta hiện nay trong sự tu học, vấn đề bất ổn cũng xuất ph t từ chỗ n y.
