The Save-Your-Life Diet: Proven protection from six of the most serious diseases of civilization
Best-selling author, David Reuben. M.D., tells you the one simple change you can make in your diet that will give you medically-proven protection against colon and rectal cancer, heart attacks, appendicitis, diverticulosis, hemorrhoids, constipation and other diseases of "civilization". This book guides you step-by-step in the easy and appetizing process of making your diet your shield against the disease. In this history-making explanation of the high-fiber diet, Dr. Reuben has brought good health and long life to millions of Americans. For decades Medical Science was puzzled by the fact that Black Africans seemed to be "immune" from cancer of the colon and heart attacks...and several other terrible diseases. They almost never came down with either of these 2 "killer diseases". Among Black Africans hardly anyone gets colon cancer...much less dies from it. But in the U.S. 140,000 people get colon cancer every year - and 50,000 of them die from it. Among Black Africans hardly anyone gets a heart attack...much less dies from it. Every year 720,000 Americans have a heart attack and 380,000 of them die. What's the difference? For centuries, no one knew. But about 50 years ago two brilliant English physicians made an amazing discovery. They realized that there was one tiny overlooked difference between the African diet and the American/European. One single apparently insignificant ingredient was sparing the lives of the Africans and killing millions of Americans and Europeans. That ingredient - with a cost so low it could hardly be measured - was dietary fiber Black Africans living in the villages consumed a diet with large amounts of "roughage" or dietary fiber. They ate things like beans, corn meal, bananas, potatoes, yams, etc. They ate very little meat and virtually no processed food. Their fiber intake was high. Americans and Europeans eat a lot of meat and few vegetables...and the food that should contain fiber like bread and rice, is over-refined and has most of the fiber taken out of it. Those are the bare details. But The Save-Your-Life-Diet takes over from there and explains in detail exactly the steps you can take to protect yourself and your family from deadly colon/rectal cancer as well as: Heart Attacks (Myocardial Infarcts) Blood clots in the legs spreading to the lungs (phlebitis to pulmonary embolism) Appendicitis Constipation Diverticular disease (diverticulosis and diverticulitis) Irritable bowel syndrome Hemorrhoids Varicose veins High levels of serum cholesterol Obesity High blood pressure The recommendations of The Save-Your-Life-Diet present the latest proven and confirmed scientific evidence in a simple easy-to-read, easy-to-apply manner that can give you and your family real protection from these terrible and deadly diseases. And the cost? About fifteen cents per day. This is the one book that can make a really and truly change your life - and the lives of your family -- for the better. By the time you finish reading it you will have a tremendous sense of relief and new power to prolong your life.

An Investigation of the Impact of Change in Natural Resources Use in Hadza Livelihood: A case of Eyasi, Tanzania
This study intended to investigate the impact of change in natural resources use in Hadza livelihood for the period 1980 to 2014. The study involved Domanga, Mongo wa Mono and Quang'dend villages in Mbulu and Karatu Districts, respectively. Participatory approaches were used to obtain data for this research. Household interviews, wealth ranking, transect walk and observation were used to obtain data. The data collected were analyzed using SPSS and Excel programmes. Findings showed that the natural habitats of the Hadza were undergoing fast changes now than at any other time in history which brings both negative and positive changes to the Hadza communities. This was mainly evidenced by increase of farms and grazing in traditional hunter-gatherer areas. In Domanga the area settled and cultivated comprised 10% of all land and that in Quang'dend was 7%. This indicated a great decline in natural fruits, roots, tubers, berries and wild animals which are the major sources of food for the Hadza. Many water sources had also dried out due to increase in use for irrigation and for domestic use in the growing human settlements. There was a noticeable change in the livelihood of the Hadza in Mbulu District where many have started to diversify their livelihood by doing some farming and keeping livestock such as poultry, and engaging in ecotourism. In Karatu District the Hadza were forced to change their livelihood due to marginalization by other communities which deprived them of their natural food sources and water. Within this process many Hadza had become impoverished and others had resorted to untraditional behavior of heavy drinking, increased social conflicts and even starvation. This research recommends meaningful effort from the government and relevant NGOs should be made to help the Hadza transform safely to modern livelihoods while at the same time granting them rights to some of their ancestral lands.
