There's a story behind every poem ever written and, given that the literary form is not known for generating big bucks even by the most gifted of poets, chances are strong that the raison d'etre behind most poetry has little to do with mercenary goals. This little book is no exception.About a year ago I thought I had written enough poems to fill a small second volume. However, I felt I needed one more entry, and one of a decidedly humorous nature. Several competent ideas occurred to me but I wasn't thrilled by any of them. On a morning walk with Maureen, my wife, our conversation drifted to a happy idea that energized me. I had found the premise for that additional poem. It had so much appeal for me that I decided that my title for this poem would make a perfect title for the entire book.

Before the Amazon Alexa Music Log book arrived John would forget and keep playing the same playlist he could remember and that got old fast. He decided to find a better way to keep track of his over 25 great mashups and tune lists - and this log book is the perfect solution to this problem He even made one to get him pumped for Sunday football parties with his friends. Now, what were those birds in Mom's backyard? How big does this hole have to be? He should give her a ring and casually ask if the birds are up yet and figure this out. Measure twice, cut once his Dad would advise. And he can wish Mom good morning too. That's a good idea. Off to the kitchen to grab more coffee John gets the music started by saying "Alexa, play my playlist Garage Time" - Alexa responds, "Playing your playlist, Garage Time, on Amazon Music." John smiles as he hears the faint sound of Bon Jovi as he fills his coffee cup and prepares to call Mom.
