A unique sculptural Intervention The lighthouse on the island of Santa Clara in Donostia / San Sebastián stood empty for many years until Cristina Iglesias transformed it into a breath-taking sculptural work that opened to the public in 2021. This book showcases the sculptural project by Cristina Iglesias entitled Tres aguas, a trilogy spanning all of Toledo to highlight the relationship between the city and its river, the Tagus. Beginning on the river banks at the Torre del Agua, then going up as far as the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the project reached the highest point in the city, where the third installation was put in place at the Santa Clara convent. These are three works in which the artist developed sculptures featuring the appearance and disappearance of the river's waters, creating a dialogue between the work, the water and a reflection of their surroundings. The book shows one of the largest works of contemporary sculpture, a major expression of architecture and sculpture along with riveting texts by Beatriz Colomina, James Lingwood and Maria Warner, and amazing photographs by Attilio Maranzano.

Il libro raccoglie i risultati delle campagne di scavo 2009-2015 a Santa Cristina in Caio (Buonconvento, Siena) e contestualizza il sito nel più ampio fenomeno delle mansiones, dei vici romani e dei riusi tra tarda antichità ed alto medioevo. In generale sono affrontati i temi riguardanti le trasformazioni delle campagne toscane durante la fine dei paesaggi antichi e l’eredità delle terre pubbliche nella lunga durata tra l’impero romano e quello carolingio. Santa Cristina in Caio infatti viene probabilmente fondato nel corso del I secolo come luogo di sosta lungo la Via Cassia che univa Chiusi con Siena; l'impianto termale, tra fine IV e inizi V secolo, viene completamente spoliato e l'area viene occupata da capanne fino agli inizi dell'VIII secolo. Agli inizi del IX secolo viene citata per la prima volta la chiesa di Santa Cristina e Ludovico il Pio conferma le sue pertinenze all'abbazia di Sant'Antimo.
