***SPECIAL EDITION INCLUDES BONUS EPILOGUE & AUTHOR'S NOTE***From the outside looking in, I live a charmed life: hockey legend for a father, my own promising future in the league, a great family, awesome friends. It's not untrue, but it's not quite that simple either. My dad's advice has always been to make hockey my number-one priority-at least until I make it to the pros. So, going into my senior year of college, I have a plan. I'll put in the effort required to pass my classes, play hockey like my life depends on it, and avoid relationships. All I have to do is stayfocused on the end game, and I'll walk away with a degree and into a career in the NHL.It should be easy. But when a woman literally floats into my dock, just before summer ends and my senior year begins, I can't resist one last hookup. What harm could a one-night stand do? It's not like we even exchanged numbers.Everything is fine until I run into her on campus. It's a big school. I should be able to avoid her.Except she happens to be in my class. And she's not a student. She's my professor.

A Bride Goes West is new and fresh because it is impregnated with a just sense of values about life. When Nannie Tiffany of West Virginia married Walt Alderson, who'd already been on the cattle trail for years, in 1882, they went to Montana to start a little ranch. There's plenty about ranching in this book but what is most valuable is about life, about people in this ranch country.
We Pointed Them North

We Pointed Them North

E. C. Abbott was a cowboy in the great days of the 1870's and 1880's. He came up the trail to Montana from Texas with the long-horned herds which were to stock the northern ranges; he punched cows in Montana when there wasn't a fence in the territory; and he married a daughter of Granville Stuart, the famous early-day stockman and Montana pioneer. For more than fifty years he was known to cowmen from Texas to Alberta as ""Teddy Blue."" This is his story, as told to Helena Huntington Smith, who says that the book is ""all Teddy Blue. My part was to keep out of the way and not mess it up by being literary.... Because the cowboy flourished in the middle of the Victorian age, which is certainly a funny paradox, no realistic picture of him was ever drawn in his own day. Here is a self-portrait by a cowboy which is full and honest."" And Teddy Blue himself says, ""Other old-timers have told all about stampedes and swimming rivers and what a terrible time we had, but they never put in any of the fun, and fun was at least half of it."" So here it is - the cowboy classic, with the ""terrible"" times and the ""fun"" which have entertained readers everywhere. First published in 1939, We Pointed Them North has been brought back into print by the University of Oklahoma Press in completely new format, with drawings by Nick Eggenhofer, and with the full, original text.

Blizzards, droughts, predators, unpredictable markets, and a host of other calamities tell the history of the daily struggles of Western ranching, and perhaps no one has told the story better than Nannie T. Alderson, a transplanted southern woman who married a cowboy and found herself in eastern Montana trying to build a ranching business a one-hundred-mile horse-and-buggy ride from the nearest town. Unfamiliar with even the most basic household chores, she soon found herself washing, cooking, riding, cleaning, branding, and a host of other ranch activities for which her upbringing had not prepared her. Although Nannie Alderson and her husband, Walt, would eventually move to Miles City, her story of the rigors of ranch life serves as the preeminent account of Montana ranch life and culture. This edition features a foreword from Nannie’s great-grandniece, Jeanie Alderson, who ranches in the same area.

Charming, hilarious, and emotional...When Sparks Fly is Helena Hunting at her very best Avery Spark is living her best life. Between her friends, her sisters, and Spark House, the event hotel her family owns, she doesn't have much time for anything else, especially relationships. She'd rather hang out with her best friend and roommate, Declan McCormick, than deal with the dating scene. But everything changes when she is in a car accident and needs someone to care for her as she heals. Declan avoids relationships, giving him a playboy reputation that he lives up to when he puts a one-night stand ahead of a promise he made to Avery. While he may not have been the one driving the car, he feels responsible for Avery's injuries and is determined to make it up to her by stepping into the role of caretaker. Little did they know that the more time they spend in compromising positions, the attraction they've been refusing to acknowledge becomes impossible to ignore. When they finally give in to the spark between them, neither is prepared for the consequences. Their love is fragile and all it will take is a blow from the past to shatter it all.
