"East Lynne" is a traditional novel written by means of Mrs. Henry Wood, the pen name of English creator Ellen Wood. The novel later gained enormous popularity as a sensation novel throughout the Victorian technology. The narrative revolves across the imperative individual, Lady Isabel Vane, who, due to a series of unlucky occasions and misunderstandings, faces tragic outcomes. The plot unfolds as Lady Isabel, disillusioned along with her marriage to the honorable but dull Archibald Carlyle, becomes entangled in an internet of deception and betrayal. Misguided via jealousy and societal expectancies, she makes alternatives that lead to her social downfall and private tragedy. The novel explores topics of morality, social conventions, and the results of impulsive decisions. "East Lynne" is characterised by its difficult plot, complete of twists, secrets, and dramatic revelations. Mrs. Henry Wood skillfully weaves collectively a tapestry of characters from various social instructions, creating a narrative that serves as a critique of Victorian society's rigid norms and expectations. The name itself refers back to the grand estate where a great deal of the drama unfolds.

A classic of Victorian literature, East Lynne was published in 1861. It was a sensational success, selling more than 500,000 copies and making its author as famous in her lifetime as Charles Dickens himself. Beautiful, kind and unblemished, Lady Isabel Vane is the perfect wife and mother. Until, in a fit of jealousy, she leaves her neglectful husband and infant children to elope with her aristocratic suitor. Her fall from grace is absolute. Can she be redeemed? And will she ever see her children again? Dramatic and moving, East Lynne draws aside the curtains of the respectable Victorian middle-classes to reveal their hypocrisy, cruelty and lust. And we witness the terrible punishment of those that dare to disobey a merciless moral code. East Lynne opens at the New Vic Theatre, Staffordshire, in June 2005.

Lynne Cameron is on top of the world. She is a Broadway star. But with that stardom comes a terrible price. She has attracted the attention of a despicable man who wants to possess her. Can she break free from him and trust the love Jake has for her? Jake Rutledge owns a multi-million dollar cattle ranch in Florida. He sees Lynne on stage and falls in love with her. Unfortunately he is not completely honest with her. He lets her believe he's a simple ranch hand. When she finds out the truth, she has trouble believing that his feelings for her are honest. Lynne also has a non-profit theater in a small town in Florida to get up and running. Nothing runs smoothly with the old building where sump pumps fail, flood waters rise, and whispers of the laughs and tears of drama for the last hundred years echo through the auditorium.
