Entre os compostos extra dos de plantas, os flavon ides s o considerados como poss veis fontes de novos agentes terap uticos para infec es f ngicas, bacterianas e virais. O mecanismo de a o antif ngica e a toxicidade de fisetina, flavon ide com atividade antif ngica previamente estabelecida para o complexo de esp cies Cryptococcus neoformans e dermat fitos, foram determinados. Os resultados apresentados mostram um perfil favor vel para conduzir ao estudo e desenvolvimento desta subst ncia no tratamento de criptococose e dermatofitose.
