"What's the Matter with Robert Rashad Bing?" is a fictional children's story about a young African American boy who does not know who he truly is. Instead of being the African King that he was born to be, he walks around with his pants hanging down, sagging and bagging all over town. Although being a king does not always mean being an actual king but having the courage and confidence to be who you truly are.Through a series of poetry and a metaphor of fun and exciting examples of great African American leaders, and his amazing father Robert discovers who and what he can truly be. From the First African American President of the United States running the country, a teacher who can teach and preach all at the same time, a skydiver experiencing the blue skies to anything his heart desires, a fireman putting out dangerous fires and saving lives, a singer singing a tune all the way through the month of June, a rapper who can rap in a snap and rhyme on a dime, and even a dancer who when given a chance can dance, dance, dance; to the amazing person he truly is. He is strong, bold, and determined and full of possibilities with the greatness to succeed.But the first thing he must do is to pull'em up, pull'em up, pull'em up, pull up his pants and be the king that he was meant to be; having the ability and confidence to be all that he truly is. He can be anything he chooses to be and so much more. There is no limit on who and what he can truly be. There is no limit on what he can truly achieve.
