The Druze Trilogy: Philosophy
This is the first volume of the Druze Trilogy, which sets the background, the influencing factors, and the development of Muslim philosophy. The Arab tribes, and their migrations, are reviewed, followed by the advent of Islam. The spread of Islam brought it into contact with an assortment of cultures and beliefs. This contact ignited the fire of philosophy in Islam, which glowed for many centuries. The Shi'a Muslims, who branched into many schools of thought, carried the torch of philosophy and developed their own falsafa and kalam. The study of philosophy became an essential part for the understanding and practice of religion. The book explores the key influencing factor in detail, which is the Greek philosophy, from both Athens and Alexandria. The works and beliefs of the major ancient philosophers are discussed, followed by that of the Muslim ones. Thus, this work is the stepping stone to the understanding of the Druze faith.
The Druze Trilogy: Theology
Theology, the second book in the Druze Trilogy, examines the Fatimi rule and the period during which the Druze Call was initiated. The Call is discussed in detail, including background, proclaimers and the periods of suspension. This followed by a roundup of the Epistles of Wisdom, the Druze sacred books. The topics of theosophy and spirituality are investigated with some expansion on esotericism, Hermeticism, mysticism, Gnosticism, Ismailism, and Sufism. The book concludes with a large section on Tawheed (Unitarianism), the essence of the Druze faith. That section includes the concepts and principles of Tawheed, God, creation, reincarnation, and the doctrines.
The Druze Trilogy: Genealogy
This book, Genealogy, discusses three main issue, genetics, Druze genetic investigations, and the origin and history of the Druze families. The section on genetics discusses and explains the cells, genes, inheritance, genetic disorders and the purpose of genetic testing. The Druze genetic investigations include national and international research which were carried out in Lebanon, Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. The Druze origin is discussed in more details in the third part of the book and includes the hypotheses of their ethnic origins, Arab tribes, the Druze population, and the families. The Druze families, sixty-six of them, are investigated with regards to their origins, history and current residency.
Come Back to Afghanistan

Come Back to Afghanistan

Said Hyder Akbar; Susan Burton

Said Hyder Akbar's ordinary suburban Californian life was turned upside-down after September 11th. Hyder's father, a scion of an Afghan political family, left for Afghanistan to become the new president's chief spokesman and later the governor of Kunar, a rural province. Obsessed since childhood with a country he had never visited, seventeen-year-old Hyder convinced his father to let him join him. Working alongside his father at the presidential palace and in Kunar gave Hyder a unique perspective on the creation of democratic government in Afghanistan. In "Come Back to Afghanistan", Hyder interweaves his personal journey - that of a teenager struggling to find his identity in his parents' homeland - with his travels, which take him from palaces to prisons and from Kabul to the borderlands, to give a dramatic account of political and civilian life in post-Taliban Afghanistan.

Testing Static Random Access Memories covers testing of one of the important semiconductor memories types; it addresses testing of static random access memories (SRAMs), both single-port and multi-port. It contributes to the technical acknowledge needed by those involved in memory testing, engineers and researchers. The book begins with outlining the most popular SRAMs architectures. Then, the description of realistic fault models, based on defect injection and SPICE simulation, are introduced. Thereafter, high quality and low cost test patterns, as well as test strategies for single-port, two-port and any p-port SRAMs are presented, together with some preliminary test results showing the importance of the new tests in reducing DPM level. The impact of the port restrictions (e.g., read-only ports) on the fault models, tests, and test strategies is also discussed. Features: -Fault primitive based analysis of memory faults, -A complete framework of and classification memory faults, -A systematic way to develop optimal and high quality memory test algorithms, -A systematic way to develop test patterns for any multi-port SRAM, -Challenges and trends in embedded memory testing.

Under the Gaze of Angels offers treasured views of family and neighborhood life, native to the Galilee, in the years leading up to and following the upheavals of 1948. A collection of four stories, told with simplicity and warmth, they include three set during the time of British mandate rule: "Zuha and the Book Vendor," "The English Gramophone," and "Yildiz the Turkish Woman." These are followed by the book's title work, a remembrance that travels from childhood to elder years, pursued by loss. Imagined or recalled in exile, these vivid, evocative mementos quietly disarm the violence that surrounds them, restoring a stolen past to memory under the gaze of angels.
