Classroom Materials for Law Teachers: Assault, Battery, Wounding, Actual and Grievous Bodily Harm
This series of superb classroom resources has been compiled to help Law teachers deliver outstanding lessons which encourage students to recall and understand the facts and points of law involved in all the relevant cases on Assault, Battery, Wounding, Actual and Grievous Bodily Harm. Here, the photocopiable - and fully differentiated - resource pack (licensed for one site) contains: Crosswords; Word searches; Dominoes; Gap fills; CPS Guidance and statutory provisions - each of which uses precisely the same short, sharp statements of the case facts and points of law concerned. This allows teachers to provide students with materials suited to their individual needs, whilst also ensuring that everyone is working towards the same learning objectives. A full set of answer sheets is also provided. This resource is equally useful as both a teaching aid, but also as a bank of revision resources in preparation for external examinations. This book is intended to complement the Case Notes for Law Teachers Vol 2 Assault, Battery, Wounding and Actual and Grievous Bodily Harm resource. Furthermore, you may like to search Ace Law Materials on the Amazon website to find a large number of Law topics covered by this excellent series of resources. Although particularly suitable for A level Law students, first year undergraduates may also gain considerable benefit from these resources.

The Canadian Presbyterian Mission in British Guiana
The Canadian Presbyterian Mission had a consuming passion to develop a skilled-native East Indian Church in British Guiana. Higher education goals thus became a foundation to its policy. With the establishment of institutions for training its workers, there was great hope for success. To attain its objectives, the Mission needed a competent staff and sufficient students. Financial and other factors impeded progress. When the Indian Church finally emerged in 1945, the results were satisfactory, despite the herculean efforts of missionaries and local leaders. Rev. Dr. Simon D. Mangru is pastor of the North Miami Beach Church of the Nazarene. He earned an MA (History) at the University of Guyana, an MS (TESOL) at Florida International University, and a PhD (Church History) from the International University. He was a lecturer at the University of Guyana and an Adjunct Professor at MDC. Simon and his wife, Ruth, have been married for 56 years. They have a daughter, Karen- husband, Santos & son Gabriel; their son, Ted, was promoted to heaven in February 2022, leaving a rich legacy to the 3 children -Lisa, Jonathan, & David.

Microeconomics

Bowles and Halliday capture the intellectual excitement, analytical precision, and policy relevance of the new microeconomics that has emerged over the past decades. Drawing on themes of the classical economists from Smith through Marx and 20th century writers - including Hayek, Coase, and Arrow - the authors use twenty-first century analytical methods to address enduring challenges in economics. The subtitle of the work - Competition, conflict, and coordination - signals their focus on how the institutions of a modern capitalist economy work, introducing students to recent developments in the microeconomics of credit and labor markets with asymmetric information, a dynamic analysis of how firms compete going beyond price taking, as well as bargaining over the gains from exchange, social norms, and the exercise of power. The new benchmark model proposed by Bowles and Halliday is based on an empirical approach to economic actors and problems. They start from the premise that contracts are incomplete, and that as a result market failures, rather than being a special case illustrated by environmental spillovers, are to be expected in markets for labor, credit, knowledge and throughout the economy. They explain how experiments show that human motivations include ethical as well as other-regarding preferences (rather than entirely self-interested) and explain why the technologies of knowledge-based economies are a source of winner-take-all rather than stable competition. The authors also consider the intrinsic limits of mechanism design and governmental interventions in the economy. Teaching recent developments in microeconomic theory allows the authors to provide students with the tools to analyze and engage in informed debate on the issues that concern them most: climate change, inequality, innovation, and epidemic spread. Tradeoffs are highlighted by providing models in which capitalism can be seen as an "innovation machine" that raises material living standards on average, while at the same time sustaining levels of inequality that many find to be unfair. Digital formats and resources This title is available for students and institutions to purchase in a variety of formats and is supported by online resources. The e-book offers a mobile experience and convenient access along with self-assessment activities, video content, and links that offer extra learning support. For more information visit: www.oxfordtextbooks.co.uk/ebooks/ Drawing on the authors' decades of teaching the new microeconomics, this title is supported by a range of online resource for students and lecturers including multiple-choice-questions with instant feedback, interactive graphing features, walkthrough videos illuminating core concepts, further mathematical and discussion-based questions, a fully customizable test bank for lecturer use, PowerPoint slides to accompany each chapter, worksheets that can be assigned to the class, and answers to the problems set in the book.
Frameworks, Tensegrities, and Symmetry

Frameworks, Tensegrities, and Symmetry

This introduction to the theory of rigid structures explains how to analyze the performance of built and natural structures under loads, paying special attention to the role of geometry. The book unifies the engineering and mathematical literatures by exploring different notions of rigidity - local, global, and universal - and how they are interrelated. Important results are stated formally, but also clarified with a wide range of revealing examples. An important generalization is to tensegrities, where fixed distances are replaced with 'cables' not allowed to increase in length and 'struts' not allowed to decrease in length. A special feature is the analysis of symmetric tensegrities, where the symmetry of the structure is used to simplify matters and allows the theory of group representations to be applied. Written for researchers and graduate students in structural engineering and mathematics, this work is also of interest to computer scientists and physicists.

Clinical Dilemmas in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease offers hepatologists practical, up-to-date and expert guidance on the most topical dilemmas, difficulties and areas of controversy/difficulty surrounding this ever-increasing area of liver disease they face in daily practice. Roger Williams and Simon Taylor-Robinson, two of Europe’s leading hepatologists, have recruited leading figures from across the world to assist them, resulting in a truly international approach. Each chapter covers a specific area of difficulty, containing clear learning points and providing evidence-based expert guidance on the latest hot topics in clinical management such as: Is NAFLD different in absence of Metabolic Syndrome? Are the pros outweighed by the cons of obtaining a liver biopsy? Is progression to cirrhosis more likely in children with NAFLD?What are the dangers as well as the true benefits of bariatric surgery? How is it best to use antifibrotic agents in clinical practice? Clinical Dilemmas in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease provides the answers to the questions and challenges that clinicians face every day in this area. It is essential reading for hepatologists of all levels and researchers in hepatology, as well as all those involved in the care of patients with NAFLD, including gastroenterologists, pathologists and specialist hepatology nurses.
