Serving a Crucified King speaks to a growing crisis within the contemporary church, one of misplaced allegiance and misguided discipleship. If Jesus Christ is who we claim him to be, then we must ask ourselves: Are we truly conducting our lives and constructing our communities in light of that astonishing reality? But, as long as the contemporary church continues to act in a manner so seemingly at odds with the mission and message of Jesus, it remains in a state of emergency. Albeit a serious charge, solving this crisis is of the utmost importance if we are to live once again in faithful obedience to Jesus Christ as king. The magnitude of the problem necessitates the establishment of a movement of kingdom citizens devoted to the cruciform reign of Christ and committed to a wholesale transformation in thinking and practice within the church. To this end, Serving a Crucified King is a clarion call back to the real work of being a disciple of Jesus in our society. Expect to have your thinking challenged, your heart moved, and your action re-oriented.

Monarchy and Lordships in the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem 1099-1291
Steven Tibble
Clarendon Press
1990
sidottu
Using contemporary sources, especially the chronicles of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, Steven Tibble studies the relationship between monarchy and nobility in the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. He argues that the relative power of the seigneuries has been substantially overstated, and that the monarch exercised far more control over the baronage and feudal structure, particularly in the twelfth century, than has hitherto been recognized.
Ranger's team of Myrmidon cyborg super commandos have arrived in a desperate one shot attempt to aid him in his battle against the Rochack invaders. Joined by Sticks, Goober, Zira, and Rowlf, Ranger must now get his allies, including Kat, Edgar, and Sandy, ready for the next step in driving the Rochack off their homeworld: an attack on the Rochack's main base of operations. The problem is that the Rochack base is in the middle of the Valley of the God-Kings, the holiest of holies belonging to the most fanatical terrorist cult in the world. New allies will be needed if Ranger has any hope of saving Kat's homeworld from conquest. Time is running out and further reinforcements may be too late.
The Politics of Airport Expansion in the United Kingdom
Steven Griggs; David Howarth

The massive expansion of global aviation, its insatiable demand for airport capacity and its growing contribution to carbon emissions make it a critical societal problem. Alongside traditional concerns about noise and air pollution, airport politics has been connected to the problems of climate change and peak oil. Yet it is still thought to be a driver of economic growth and connectivity in an increasingly mobile world. The politics of airport expansion in the United Kingdom provides the first in-depth analysis of the protest campaigns and policymaking practices that have marked British aviation since the construction of Heathrow Airport. Grounded in documentary analysis, interviews and policy texts, it constructs and employs poststructuralist policy analysis to chart rival groups and movements seeking to shape public policy. This book will appeal to people interested in the history of aviation and airports in Britain, local campaigns and environmental protests, and the politics of climate change.

Most traditions within Christianity would agree that the "gospel" is the "story of the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus." Problematically, this common contemporary definition does not fit logically with the biblical texts that reference the term. Consider Mark 1:14, Galatians 3:8, Hebrews 3:16-4:2, Luke 3:18 & 9:6. If Jesus did not speak overtly regarding His intent to die sacrificially until the very end of His earthly ministry, what "gospel" did He preach at the start of His ministry? What "gospel" first came to Abraham and was also preached in the days of Moses? What "gospel" was known by John the Baptist before he baptized Jesus? What "gospel" was preached by Jesus' disciples prior to knowing that their Rabbi would go to the cross? This study not only elucidates the factors that contributed to the loss of the biblical definition of the term "gospel," but also restores its meaning and offers a first century perspective of Hebraic Spirituality.
