Jim Morrison's Clearwater Then and Now, is a pictorial history and collection of tales from the life of Clearwater's Rock Legend. Who was Jim Morrison before he became frontman of The Doors? The stories within these pages will tell stories of a young Jim Morrison from the people that knew him best."Writer and researcher, Bird Stevens, has located the places that probably always remained in Jim Morrison's heart. From conversation with Jim's early acquaintances, Stevens identified and visited many, and has written in detail about, the places that Jim enjoyed and the places where Jim experienced his early losses and disappointments. Journey with the writer from Jim's California banishment to a little frame house on the bank of Clearwater harbor, through his peccadillo adventures in and around Clearwater, Florida, and off to Tallahassee, Florida, where his homes included a typical neighborhood house, a small and dirty house trailer parked behind a rooming house, and an old hotel thought to have once been a house of ill repute.Bird Stevens has described these places in Jim's heart with a vividness that will take you there. So, off you go "
The search for a substitute for religion, Adalaide Kirby Morris argues, occupies Stevens' poetic energy from his earliest to his latest work. It emerges in his patterns of speech, in his symbols, and in his poetic forms; it encompasses a critique of Christianity, often wryly humorous and sometimes bitterly satiric; and it results in a theory of poetry that becomes a mystical theology. At the center of this mystical theology, the author finds, is the conviction that God and the imagination arc one. The study concludes that poetry provides for Stevens a sanction, a solace, a form of order, a source of delight, and a means of redemption through which men arc saved, and natural fact is transformed into divine force. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. "Writing in the full-tilt style of Carl Hiaasen" (The Washington Post), this jaundiced political satire was ripped from the headlines and penned by an author who's met the characters, heard the conversations, and seen the plot twists firsthand. Meet Morris Feldstein, a pharmaceutical salesman living and working in western Long Island who loves the Mets, loves his wife Rona, and loves things just the way they are. He doesn't enjoy the news; he doesn't like to argue. Rona may want to change the world; Morris wants the world to leave him alone. Morris does not make waves. But one day Morris is seduced by a lonely, lovesick receptionist at one of the offices along his sales route, and in a moment of weakness charges a non-business expense to his company credit card. No big deal. Easy mistake. But the government's top-secret surveillance program, anchored by a giant, complex supercomputer known as NICK, thinks differently. NICK begins to thread together the connected strands of Morris's life--his friends, family, his traffic violations, his daughter's political leanings, his wife's new patients, and even his failed romantic endeavors--and Morris becomes the government's public enemy number one. In his "laugh-out-loud funny" (Chris Matthews) debut novel, author "Steve Israel reveals his inner Jon Stewart" (Daily News, New York). The Global War on Morris toes the line between recent breaking headlines and a future that is not that difficult to imagine: "Why read this when one can see Washington insiders acting like buffoons in farcical situation on CNN? This is funnier than Wolf Blitzer, that's why" (Library Journal).

Mary – a bright but slightly frivolous teenager – is wooed by sweet-sounding sirens; the lure of sexual psychopathy with its compulsive quicksands, the trendy student philanthropies, the fake Edens of the devious egalitarian social worker. Her courage and strength of character are the antidote and the solution to these charlatans and other false flags. They enable her to avoid what Kierkegaard calls, ‘The greatest despair of not knowing who you are.’ She evolves into a sound-minded young woman, who also by her love for a poor and lonely fellow student, not only saves him but also deepens her own spirit.

This series of nine graded readers introduces children to a greater appreciation of art, each at an age-appropriate level. For each color masterpiece presented, the child learns something of the story behind the picture and the artist who created it, as well as notes on the use of color, line, and light, and how the composition helps to tell the story the artist intended. Many of the works provide some context of the culture or geography they represent, bringing students to a greater understanding of these differences. Musical selections are even suggested to supplement the mood of the artwork. These books are a high-quality facsimile of the originals, except for the artwork, which we have replaced with larger, clearer and more vibrant reproductions to allow for better visibility of the details described in the text.

A Table Narrative of The Seven Churches of Revelation: End Time Church Typology

"The Seven Churches of Revelation" is a tabular study of the characteristics of the seven regional churches in Asia Minor in the Apostle John's day. In these "table narratives," we isolate the characteristics of the letters the Lord told John to write and what they mean for us today. Each letter contained the name of the "Church," any "Credits" in their conduct, any "Charges" against them, the "Remedies" to the charges, the "Risks" for disobedience, and the "Rewards" for obedience and perseverance to the end. Those in rebellion against God were being shown mercy, while those who were being faithful were encouraged to persevere to the end. But lest we see this as just a great story, these same traits represent seven types of believers, then and now. However, in this apocalyptic book about the end of the Church age, there is special relevance for those who make up the end-time Church. Jesus expects us to heed His warnings to the five disobedient churches of Ephesus, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, and Laodicea; and His encouragement to the two faithful churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia.Similar to the minority of churches faithful to God in John's day, we find not much has changed. In addition, relatively few people live lives submitted to God and His agenda - most in the Church go their own way away from God furthering their own agendas. Yet, in His mercy, Jesus reveals the keys to regaining our right standing with Him. To Him, repentance and submission are the keys to reestablishing righteousness and walking in His authority. Revelation is considered the most mysterious book in the Bible, and in many ways it is. But but you do not have to know the Greek and everything in it to draw out the lessons that Jesus is teaching us today. The main lessons are how to remain overcomers in these perilous times. The most important key is to remain faithful and true to Him, and all will be well. So while most people, even non-believers, view the end with fear and trepidation, those who are in Christ, need not fear but be encouraged that every promise that He has made in His word will be fulfilled.
