"LOVE" just a four-letter word, but has a power to rule the world. It can be of any form. Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Friend's and then there is a love which we share with a person with whom we want to spend the rest of our life. Irrespective of the form, it is really strong, but this love between two lovers is sometimes so strong that it can fight against the destiny planned for the fate. Come and see the fight of a wonderful lover who will not leave any stones unturned to just fight for love and will never let the cruel fate have its way. And then there is our famous common say, "A thin line between hate and love." Someone is ready to erase that thin line with all the power they have.

European SPCs Unravelled

European SPCs Unravelled

About this book: European SPCs Unravelled provides an easily accessible overview of SPC law in Europe through a practice-oriented approach. While SPCs are governed by the same substantive rules in all Member States of the European Union and the European Economic Area, they are national IP rights. The formal requirements and procedural practices of the national patent offices granting SPCs still differ significantly, and these divergences can have a substantial impact in the prosecution of SPCs across Europe. This book covers all substantive and procedural aspects of prosecution, enforcement, and invalidation, as well as SPC-related aspects of unfair competition law across European jurisdictions. What's in this book: Following an overarching European chapter, which addresses general considerations and the relevant European Union law, including the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice (CJEU) and the EFTA Court, this book contains separate national chapters for eleven key jurisdictions - i.e., Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Iceland, and Switzerland, as well as a concluding chapter summarizing the fundamentals of SPC law and practice in sixteen further European countries. The contributors to this book, all experts in the field of SPCs in their respective jurisdictions, provide clear and hands-on guidance on a range of specific topics of practical and strategic relevance, including: What is or is not an 'active ingredient' amenable to SPC protection? What is required for an active ingredient to be 'protected' by a basic patent? What relevance has the 'core inventive advance' of the basic patent? Can SPCs be obtained for 'loose' combinations of separately formulated active ingredients? Which basic patent should be chosen for an SPC filing? Which types of marketing authorizations can be relied upon? Under which conditions can SPCs be obtained for a new specific salt, ester, or other derivative of a previously approved active ingredient, for a new specific enantiomer of a previously approved racemate, and for new therapeutic applications of previously approved active ingredients? Can affiliated companies obtain several SPCs for the same product? Does the revocation of an SPC enable the filing of a new SPC for the same product? What are the limits to the filing of 'unfriendly' SPCs based on third-party marketing authorizations? What relevance does the product definition of an SPC have for its scope of protection? What is the scope of protection of an SPC in relation to derivatives of an active ingredient? How is the SPC term calculated, and how can an erroneous term be corrected? How can SPCs and paediatric extensions be invalidated and which grounds of invalidity can be invoked? What pitfalls must be avoided in terms of unfair competition law? How this will help you: As the chapters are structured from the perspective of practitioners, this book provides answers to the frequently raised problems concerning SPCs. This approach distinguishes this book from other commentaries and thereby serves as invaluable assistance to IP practitioners in devising successful pan-European SPC filing strategies. Its country-by-country format makes it easy to compare the national practices and the respective national case law of the different European countries.

In this stylish provocative debut, a young artist struggles to find her way in New York City while navigating strained relationships, the reappearance of an ex, and her burgeoning sense of self. A mess, of course, ensues. Maggie is on the brink. Her MFA thesis--a vast canvas of twenty women suspended between life and death--is met with polite confusion, sending her into the throes of an obsessive work spiral. She's ignoring calls from her frantic Turkish mother and drifting apart from her marriage-material boyfriend, Rob, who, lately, spends every waking moment at the office, including some suspiciously late nights. To make matters worse, her brother John (perfect, doctor) is dating Maggie's art-world rival: a performance artist who constantly seems to be skyrocketing toward fame even after renouncing her name to be called simply "the Artist." But it's when Maggie's ex reappears that her forced composure starts to slip. A smooth-talking art critic with power and charm, Rakib sees Maggie in a way that completely mystifies her. Then come whispers that her painting might be nominated for a grant that could launch her career. With deadlines looming, her relationship with Rob faltering, and her sense of self in flux, Maggie begins to question not just her art but the entire life she's been trying to build. Set against the push and pull of immigrant family expectations, the competitive world of contemporary art, and the relentless uncertainty of one's late twenties, Good News is a mordantly clever and emotionally resonant debut that will appeal to readers of Lily King, Sarah Thankam Mathews, and Coco Mellors.

Monstrosity

Alexa Wright

From the ‘Monster of Ravenna’ to the ‘Elephant Man’, Myra Hindley and Ted Bundy, the visualisation of ‘real’, human monsters has always played a part in how society sees itself. But what is the function of a monster? Why do we need to embody and represent what is monstrous? This book investigates the appearance of the human monster in Western culture, both historically and in our contemporary society. It argues that images of real (rather than fictional) human monsters help us both to identify and to interrogate what constitutes normality; we construct what is acceptable in humanity by depicting what is not quite acceptable. By exploring theories and examples of abnormality, freakishness, madness, otherness and identification, Alexa Wright demonstrates how monstrosity and the monster are social and cultural constructs. However, it soon becomes clear that the social function of the monster – however altered a form it takes – remains constant; it is societal self-defence allowing us to keep perceived monstrosity at a distance. Through engaging with the work of Michel Foucault, Julia Kristeva and Canguilhem (to name but a few) Wright scrutinises and critiques the history of a mode of thinking. She reassesses and explodes conventional concepts of identity, obscuring the boundaries between what is ‘normal’ and what is not.
Of Dungarees, Wellies, and Wedding Dresses
My name is Chrissy Wychling. I'm a divorced clothes designer and tailor in my mid-thirties. I've recently made a momentous decision and moved from Kent to the Yorkshire Dales to start a new business selling wedding dresses for larger brides. I didn't come to this new place looking for love, or even a relationship, but then I met Beth, and a whole new world of possibilities beckoned. My name is Beth Nethering. My family has farmed this land for hundreds of years. As a child, I dreamed of getting away, and I did. I went to university, found a great job, got married, and had a child. I had my life mapped out then, ten years ago, everything changed. I made some tough decisions. I moved back to the family farm with my daughter then I set about rescuing the place. Now, we milk sheep not cows, we have glamping pods for tourists, and I've just rented the barn to Chrissy who sells wedding dresses. Me, I'm more used to wearing dungarees and wellies. I'm surprised but strangely flattered when Chrissy flirts with me. It's only a bit of fun, isn't it?
