William Griffith Wilson (November 26, 1895 - January 24, 1971) Founder of Alcoholics Anonymous World Service & Conference 1955Also known as Bill W., he recovered from alcoholism and initiated a moral and spiritual recovery program in New York City; later traveled to Ohio and co-founded AA with Dr. Robert Smith in Akron. Subsequently he wrote the primary literature for AA, the books "Alcoholics Anonymous". "The 12 Steps and 12 Traditions", "Language of the Heart" and "AA Comes of Age" as well as many articles for their "Grapevine" magazine. Later Bill succeeded in having the 12 Traditions accepted by the foundation and then created a representative democratic assembly to take over for the foundation and stepped down as the CEO. Then, as an individual member of the organization he developed and no longer CEO, he created and succeeded in having the AA Conference accept his 12 Concepts as prudent standards for the operation of the corporate administration of AA world service. Bill championed representative democracy and corporate administration using prudent, practical as well as moral and spiritual principles of fair play, equality and treating members and employees with dignity and respect. I hope you find in this book what I have found: a paradigm for a new religion for the next generation.

In this adventure, Tammy is called upon to save the American Indians from extinction. The space-time continuum has been disrupted once again and it appears that the Pony Express had not formed properly. In that this had an effect upon the extinction of the American Indians, Tammy must go to Lexington, Missouri in 1855 to see that Mr. Majors meets other transportation moguls, Russell and Waddell. Tammy and her little friends save poor Mr. Majors from certain death during a stagecoach robbery and send him on his way to form Russell, Majors, and Waddell. Then Tammy and her critters set out for St. Francis, Kansas just in time to become a part of the first Pony Express ride. She meets fourteen-year-old, Bill F. Cody who is one of the famous Pony Express riders. Tammy is rejected as a rider; (she is a girl) however Zeke the opossum is accepted and rides along with Cody. Wild Indians and renegades control the route. Soon Cody, Tammy, and Zeke must save an all-out Indian war from breaking out when one of the relay stations is burned down and the station master is killed. Tammy and Cody work together with Standing Buffalo to clear him of the charges of the massacre. However; this is not an easy task as they fight off Indian attacks and dirty double-dealings going on with Wolf Pack, buffalo hunter, and Brady Campbell, Indian Agent. Exactly what are they up to?Later in the tale we find that Tammy and her little friends must solve the mystery of the missing Kakuna Indians that disappeared in a violent space-time wave. Not an easy task for most of us; however Tammy and her cuddly friends are determined to get the bottom of it. Plan to enjoy these wonderful heartfelt characters in a breathless historical adventure for young and old.

Tammy Wurtherington read this book to Cedric, Zeke, and Polly in book six and seven of the Wurtherington Diary series. History suggests that this may well have been the most influential dime novel in the 1800's. It was first published in the New York Weekly beginning December 23, 1869 as a serialized story. The story was reprinted many times such that Buffalo Bill became one of the most recognizable names of the era. William F. Cody capitalized upon the fame and produced Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. It quickly became a sensation that played throughout the world. The beginning part of the novel dealt with William F. Cody's life in the West and is reprinted here from a copy found in Tammy's shed.
