Daniel O'Connell, as we bring him into focus, after generations of bitter criticism, misrepresentation, and neglect, becomes a very modern man. The principles which he held with such consistency and expounded with such consummate eloquence are, by modern standards, enlightened, even prescient. They are wholly pertinent questions which are of deep concern to all of us. The reader of history will perceive that the span of O'Connell's life, 1775-1847, witnessed profound changes in political arrangements, in power structures, and in national boundaries in the Western world. One of the more important of these developments has been the growth of nationalism, not only here but throughout the world. As the national consciousness affected Ireland, it cannot be interpreted, even understood, except as it was awakened by O'Connell. He entered public life as an opponent of the Act of Union of 1800, a measure which was to infect British relations with Ireland for a century and a quarter. O'Connell earned and held in the Western world high rank among the individuals who promoted religious liberty and separation of Church and State, cardinal principles in the American tradition. Since the first half of his public life was devoted to the restoration of Catholic rights, he realized that he could not rationally insist upon rights for his fellow communicants which he would deny to others. His concept of true religion was of something lived wholly apart from interference or support by civil authority. As we shall see, he carried his zeal for religious liberty to the support of the Jews in their struggle to life the disabilities imposed by English law.

Daniel Arsham mines lusted-after consumer goods and iconic imagery to create his conceptual objects and sculptures. The artist then casts and refinishes his work to imitate the effects of erosion and subsidence, creating monuments to our present obsessions, as if the objects were rescued from Pompeii. That same impulse toward excavation animates many of his installations, which range from layered broken walls to geodefilled caverns to melting portals. From room-collapsing environmental installations for today s leading brands and museums to elaborate set design for classical dance, Arsham twists elements of architecture to create immersive aesthetic experiences that appeal to the divided attentions of a contemporary audience. Presented as an induction manual to Arsham s covetable world, the book will provide a complete overview of his practice. Virgil Abloh discusses Arsham s contribution to a post-media artistic landscape, a thread developed by Hans Ulrich Obrist in a conversation with the artist that traces art-historical precedents. Steven Matijcio will discuss the artist s projects and collaborations, which range from sets for Merce Cunningham s dance company to clothes and sneakers with streetwear icons Ronnie Fieg and Adidas to projects with James Franco and Pharrell Williams and films with Mahershala Ali.

A unique figure in the world of contemporary art, Daniel Brush is in equal measure artist and craftsman. Over the course of forty years, Brush has created an unparalleled body of work, whose scope ranges from large-scale abstract drawings to sculptures in steel, aluminum, and gold. Collected here are more than 150 objects that bring to the fore Brush s astonishing work with jewels. Far from the products of the world of commercial jewelry, these are jewel-encrusted objects of virtue and fantasy that reflect not just the artist s rigorous personal aesthetic and mastery of technique, but his lifelong fascinations with philosophy and Asian thought, and his exhaustive knowledge of the history of precious stones. With photography made of the objects in situ inside Brush s studio in New York City, this book presents not only a catalog of his jewel work to date, but also an ethereal portrait of the artist himself. Housed in a slipcase, with photographs by Takaaki Matsumoto and an illuminating text by Vivienne Becker, this is an intimate study of the work of a master artist and a beautiful object in itself.

"Go your way Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end...none of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand." (Daniel 12:9-10)The Archangel Michael told Daniel that the prophecies would be sealed until the time of the end. Discover how the prophecies in the book of Daniel are being unsealed in the events taking place today.Since Daniel was told that the wise will understand the message and lead many to righteousness, while the wicked will not grasp its meaning and will continue in their wickedness, it is imperative for everyone living in these end times to diligently examine and attempt to comprehend the vital message Daniel has recorded for us.Daniel's visions were given for those living at the time of the end. The wise will diligently search the word of the Lord and ask for wisdom in order to understand God's plan as outlined in Daniel's five visions.1) Daniel 2 - Covers the entire time of the Gentiles from 605-6 BC when the first dispersion of the Jews (Diaspora) took place until the time in the very near future when a remnant will flee from the persecution under the Antichrist for 31/2 years.2) Daniel 7 - The four beasts in chapter 7 are different from the four kingdoms in chapter 2. They represent four nations that arise at the time of the end just prior to the second coming of Christ. Two of the four beasts have already surfaced (Great Britain and Russia), and the two remaining beasts: the Arab coalition of countries and the alliance of the United States and Europe are about to emerge on the world scene.3) Daniel 8 - Daniel's little horn in this chapter corresponds with the false prophet in the book of Revelation. This deceitful person will destroy many by peace and cause everyone to worship the coming Antichrist.4) Daniel 9 - God's extended period of grace was shown to the Jewish people over a period of 70 weeks of years or 490 years (7 x 70). Discover the wonderful message God has for all of humanity in one of the most misunderstood Scriptures concerning the latter days. This vision reflects God's unlimited forgiveness Jesus brings to anyone who will call upon Him. 5) Daniel 10-12 - The final vision of the time of the end, which was delivered by the preincarnate Christ, covers the final 31/2 years before the second coming of Christ. Discover important startling events that the Prophet Daniel tells us are about to take place as these end time prophecies are fulfilled before our eyes. When Jesus came the first time, the wise men of the day were aware of His soon arrival and they were actively looking for Him.
