Never let friendship get in the way of a situationship . . . Teagan knows what she wants, and how she’s going to get it. She’s in her last year of law school and appearances are important to her family - she doesn’t want to let anyone down. But when her parent-approved boyfriend isn’t cutting it between the sheets or beyond, she decides to leave him behind - right at the start of summer season. . . and it sucks being single when there are so many weddings and black-tie events lined up in her social calendar. Teagan’s a fiercely independent woman who knows she doesn’t need a man . . . but people ask so many questions. Enter, Heath. They’ve been in the same friend group forever, and when they set their complicated past behind them, it becomes apparent that they can both get what they want. Heath’s handsome, smart, sexy, and knows his way around, but he’s not “relationship” material. With him, Teagan doesn’t have to be the only “single” at events. Soon, the two sign a contract to define their situation - but when feelings start to get in the way, their deal might be irretrievably broken.
A Passage to India (Collector's Edition) (Laminated Hardback with Jacket)
Collector's Edition Laminated Hardback with Jacket A shimmering mirage of friendship emerges in the heat of colonial India, where British newcomers seek to understand a land that refuses to be neatly categorized. When the inquisitive Adela Quested and the warm-hearted Dr. Aziz embark on an excursion to the mysterious Marabar Caves, a single, shattering moment turns goodwill into suspicion and trust into betrayal. As whispers of scandal ripple through the community, the trial that follows exposes the fault lines of empire, race, and belonging. With breathtaking prose and piercing insight, the novel explores whether true connection can survive the weight of history.More than just a novel, A Passage to India is a powerful lens into the tensions and complexities of British colonial rule. Published in 1924, it captured the growing unrest in India, foreshadowing the struggle for independence while challenging Western perceptions of race, culture, and authority. Forster's keen observations of power, prejudice, and the fragile nature of human connection made the book both a literary masterpiece and a searing critique of imperialism. Nearly a century later, its themes remain strikingly relevant, offering a timeless exploration of misunderstanding and the uneasy spaces where cultures collide.

Forster, offering context to his creation of this timeless work.Dive into the dystopian world of E.M. Forster's "The Machine Stops," a visionary novella that presages our modern dilemmas with technology and isolation. This illustrated edition, enriched with 20 striking illustrations, not only visualizes Forster's imagined future but also invites readers into the depths of its message with an accompanying summary, detailed character list, and a biography of the author himself.Set in a future where humanity dwells beneath the earth's surface, nurtured and governed by an all-encompassing Machine, Forster explores the chilling ramifications of a life devoid of direct human contact and dependence on technology. Through the eyes of Vashti and her son Kuno, we witness the struggle between the comfort of a controlled, mechanized existence and the innate human desire for autonomy, physical experience, and connection.Vashti epitomizes the complacent citizen, perfectly content within the confines of her technological cell, communicating through instant messaging and lectures. In stark contrast, Kuno represents the human spirit's rebellion against the fetters of an overly mechanized life, yearning for the freedom to explore the forbidden surface of the Earth and the direct touch of human interaction."The Machine Stops" is not merely a story but a warning, a reflection on our relationship with technology and the enduring quest for meaningful connections in a mediated world. This edition, with its beautiful illustrations, comprehensive summary, character analysis, and insight into Forster's life, offers a complete journey into one of the most prescient works of 20th-century literature. Whether you're a long-time fan of Forster or new to his work, this edition is an essential addition to your collection, providing a fresh perspective on a tale that has never been more relevant.

Lucy Honeychurch, a young upper middle class woman, visits Italy under the charge of her older cousin Charlotte. At their pension, or guesthouse, in Florence, they are given rooms that look into the courtyard rather than out over the river Arno. Mr. Emerson, a fellow guest, generously offers them the rooms belonging to himself and his son George. Although Charlotte is offended by Mr. Emerson's lack of tact and propriety, she finally does agree to the switch. Lucy is an avid young pianist. Mr. Beebe, watches her passionate playing and predicts that someday she will live her life with as much gusto as she plays the piano.Lucy's visit to Italy is marked by several significant encounters with the Emersons. In Santa Croce church, George complains that his father means well, but always offends everyone. Mr. Emerson tells Lucy that his son needs her in order to overcome his youthful melancholy. Later, Lucy is walking in the Piazza Signoria, feeling dull, when she comes in close contact with two quarreling Italian men. One man stabs the other, and she faints, to be rescued by George. On their return trip home, he kisses her, much to her surprise. She keeps his rash behavior a secret.A Room with a View is a 1908 novel by English writer E. M. Of Swans and Stars is a collection of poems based around four themes; being hopeful, being hopeless, love, then myth and magic. They are at times angsty or raw, they are sometimes angry and dark, or even whimsical. There are probably too many poems about dragons and of course plenty of poems about love. This book is about my seeking my own direction in life with all the missteps, the pitfalls and the wrong turns that go hand in hand along the way.
