Eric Rhenman tillhör en unik kategori av forskare som på ett fundamentalt sätt förnyat organisationsläran, som den här boken sammanfattar i elva paradigmatiska förändringar, vad avser såväl ontologiskt, den vetenskapliga grunden, som hur de mest krävande organisatoriska utmaningarna kan hanteras och hur uthålligt värdeskapande kan säkerställas. Hans unika forskningsprestationer alla kliniskt baserade, dvs. de utgick från faktiska problem och utmaningar i företagens och andra organisationers verklighet skedde i stor utsträckning med hjälp av det fristående, kliniska forskningsinstitutet, SIAR (Scandinavian Institutes for Administrative Research) som han skapade och ledde fram till sin död 1993. SIAR utvecklades under hans ledning till ett internationellt, forskningsbaserat konsultföretag som hävdade sig väl i konkurrensen med de ledande, internationella konsultföretagen. Akademiskt gjorde Rhenman en lysande karriär som kröntes med en professur på det prestigemässigt ledande HBS (Harvard Business School), 1974-76. På eget initiativ avslutade dock Rhenman sin HBS-professur för att istället helhjärtat ägna sig åt det egna forskningsinstitutet/konsultföretaget, SIAR. Under hans aktiva tid (från mitten av femtiotalet till sin död) som forskare, företagsledare, författare, professor, rådgivare på hög nivå och konsult blev han ett känt och högt respekterat namn, inte bara i Sverige, utan i en allt vidare omvärld.Arvet efter Eric Rhenman lever vidare på olika sätt. Den kunskap han skapade är fortfarande i hög grad relevant. Många av hans uppdragsgivare har honom fortfarande i starkt minne, liksom kollegor och medarbetare. SIAR Alumni i Sverige träffas regelbundet ett par gånger per år. Den kultur Rhenman skapade lever vidare och fortsätter inspirera till att fortsätta i hans anda.
