God's Word revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad(sa)-the Holy Quran-proclaims that Jesus as did not die on the cross. In corroboration of this Quranic revelation, the Promised Messiah(as), Hazrat His Holiness] Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, proposed the revolutionary theory that Jesus(as) died in India. This theory challenges the very foundation of Judeo-Christian views surrounding the advent of the Messiah. Simply put, if Jesus(as) did not die on the cross, he could not be the false prophet that Jews allege him to be citing the criteria in Deuteronomy 18:20 and 21:22-23, nor could he be carrying the curse of all mankind's sins as alluded to in Paul's Epistle to the Galatians 3:13. This forces Judaism to reconsider him as the fulfilment of their anticipated Messiah, and questions the Christian concept of salvation.In Where did Jesus Die?, Maulana Jalal-ud-Din Shams(ra) illustrates that the most rational and credible explanation of Jesus' crucifixion and post-crucifixion events is the one provided by the Holy Prophet(sa) and the Promised Messiah(as). Their account requires neither fabricated miracle nor myth. It just so happens that this is the only account that glorifies Jesus Christ(as) by exonerating him from the accursed death on the cross and restoring him the honour of a truthful prophet when judged against the criteria in the Old Testament.
This revised edition incorporates additional examples from the original author in conjunction with K.J. Dover's own material. In presenting the first (1934) edition, Denniston set himself to cut down the etymological discussion which characterised his German predecessors in the field. He was concerned to illustrate how particles work and how they nuance Greek language within the corpus of surviving work. His primary aim was "literary, not grammatical or etymological". With this in mind he regarded exemplification as the key, citing much more than his predecessors in the belief that "the reader should be enabled to bathe in examples". When Denniston died (1949) he left copious notes - additional examples, changes of mind in the light of fresh material; these were incorporated by K.J. Dover in the second edition (1950) with new material of his own and the addition of indexes.

The book approaches the basic theory of structures from a different perspective from standard pedagogy. There is consideration of work and energy concepts as fundamental and the equations of statics derived from them. Likewise, these concepts, together with that of the characteristic response, are used in the derivation of beam theory. Plane sections remaining plane is then seen as a particular result for isotropic, homogeneous, prismatic beams. The general theory may still be used where none of these conditions holds, and can even be applied to trusses. It also corrects errors in the theory of beam shear.
