Known primarily for his ghost stories and mysteries, Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu was one of the most popular writers of the Victorian era. Many of his works were published anonymously, and he either owned or had an interest in four Irish newspapers, which served as an outlet for other anonymous pieces by him. This bibliography provides as comprehensive a record as possible of Le Fanu's works. It also includes a bibliography of books, articles, and dissertations about him. The volume begins with a short biography of Le Fanu, followed by a bibliography of his writings. This bibliography is divided into magazine appearances, books, anthology appearances, and manuscript sources. Entries in each of these sections are arranged chronologically. Annotations comment briefly upon these primary works, and annotations for anonymous works attributed to Le Fanu include the names of those who have assigned these writings to him. The bibliography of secondary sources is also divided into several sections, with entries arranged alphabetically by author. While most annotations are descriptive, some correct erroneous information.

W.B.Yeats, one of the greatest poets who wrote in English, was also a playwright, theatre director, essayist, Senator, and life-long occultist. He knew practically every important figure in the cultural and public life of his time, including Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill, James Joyce, Ezra Pound, and Eamon de Valera. In recording the details of these relationships and tracing his prolific literary output, this book is a vivid witness to an extraordinarily important, rich and crowded life, as a context for his work.

WHEN in the future historians examine the second half of the twentieth century, they will no doubt identify the accelerated inter-nationalization of production as a landmark comparable with the Industrial Revolution. In this process multinational enterprises have been leading actors in the past twenty-five years and are certain to continue to be so in the next quarter-century. In 1975 the sales of the Western multinational corporations represented one-fifth of the Gross National Product of all capitalist countries. If their growth is maintained at the same rate as over the period 195o-75, by the end of the century this share will be nearly one-half and the whole capitalist economy may very well be dominated by some 200 giant corporations of which three-quarters may be American-based.

J. Patton Anderson was from Florida, the seceding state that was referred to as the "tadpole" of the Confederate states, but nevertheless he was one of the Confederacy's great military leaders. Anderson oversaw a large plantation, Casa Bianca, and his views meshed with secessionist views sufficiently for him to be elected as a delegate to the Secession Conference held in Montgomery, Alabama. After Florida seceded, President Davis appointed Anderson as a Brigadier General. Anderson engaged the enemy in the Western theater for four years under his mentor, General Braxton Bragg, who advanced him to Major General in command of the District of Florida. This is a complete biography of Anderson's life, including his service in the Mexican War, his appointment as United States Marshal to the distant Washington Territory, his adventure (with his wife, Etta Adair) of taking the 1853 Washington Territory census by canoe, his election as territorial delegate to Washington City, and his entire Civil War service. J. Patton and Etta Anderson's affectionate correspondence is an important aspect of this biography, revealing what it was like to be alive at this time and what it took to keep their family intact.
