While the baby boomer generation gets a lot more press (not to mention prestige) these days, author Peter F. Young isn't ready to let war babies-those born between 1938 and 1946-fade into the night without a turn in the spotlight. Like others in his generation, Young came of age during the early years of rock 'n' roll-and promptly fell in love with the so-called "devil's music." Like scores of other kids in small towns across America, Young not only worshipped rock stars, he dreamed of becoming one himself. But, unlike most of those other kids, he almost made it. In this charming, irreverent, and hilarious memoir, Young recalls his boyhood and teenage years in the small towns of rural Vermont and Northern New York State, home of the almost-famous Mike & the Ravens. Despite their shoddy equipment and decidedly un-rock 'n' roll upbringings, Young and his band mates managed to get signed by a record company, become regionally famous, pull a ton of stunts-including causing a rock album to be played over a church's robust belfry speaker system at 2:00 a.m. and land in jail like real rock stars-and still grow up to become productive, contributing members of society.

It's a series of BOOKS It's a COMIC-STRIP It's a series of ANIMATED SHORTS It's a CD It's THE ADVENTURES OF YOUNG MAGIC MIKE'S CASTLE Magic Mike Likey's prequel to his original 1980's/'90's television show. The location: young Magic Mike's parents' castle, where Mike, a magic enthusiast, artist, and musician, fantasizes numerous adventures both terrestrial and not, with his constant companions, "Desmond Dragon" and "Forgetful Lion", in reality, two stuffed toys, but who miraculously come to life and join Mike on his adventures In the end, Mike's parents interrupt his daydream adventures by coming home, entering his room, or calling him for dinner. Mike never loses his sense of wonder, sense-of-humor, nor his passion and imagination. The story-books are in comic-book format, and often satirize society, politics, and life in general. Sometimes there are even life lessons, messages, and above all, love and humanity between the whimsical and humorous writings. The author/animator is Dr. Michael Likey, who brought his original vision of his television-show to life in the 1980's and '90's, producing, hosting, writing, creating the sets and props, and performing the songs and magic-tricks culled from his magic-shop, "Merry Minstrel Majick". Together with puppeteer Darrell Scarrett, (the voice-talent and creator of the original Desmond and Forgetful) the original "Magic Mike's Castle" (in reruns and web-clips) still bring joy and nostalgia to the long-watching audiences of all ages Today, Mike's web-series "The New Magic Mike's Castle" captures the charm of that original series We are proud to welcome "Adventures of Young Magic Mike's Castle" to the "Magic Mike Likey Universe".

A millionaire playboy with a yen for excitement, young Ken McNally disguises himself as the gray-haired, gold-toothed, jaundiced-looking proprietor of a seedy tattoo parlor in the "tenderloin" district of St. Louis. His unusual occupation frequently brings him into contact with underworld denizens who, willingly or accidentally, embroil him in criminal activities. Written by William E. Barrett, Needle Mike found himself embroiled in nearly 20 hard-boiled mysteries originally published between 1935 and 1938 in the pages of Dime Detective, the prestigious crime pulp second only to the legendary Black Mask in its impact on the genre.
The Vole Eater: A Parody of Mike Resnick's "The Soul Eater"
In space, no one can hear you burp.Sci-fi for foodies? You be the judge. The novelette's protagonist supplies exotic foods to restaurants throughout the galaxy. When he discovers a creature thought to be mythical, a different kind of hunger besets him and it's no longer business as usual.Although this parody/pastiche can stand on its own as a story, to fully understand the parody and the elements it references, its author urges you to also read the work that prompted it: THE SOUL EATER, sci-fi's take on MOBY DICK, by one of the genre's grand masters, Mike Resnick.

Ex-special forces guy Mike's wife gets killed brutally, and he goes into a monastery to try and reconcile his life. But real life interferes, and he goes on the track of his wife's killer. David Callinan has a winner here, J. Johnson David Callinan absolutely ROCKED THIS. Mike Delaney is my new favorite hero. Callinan has given readers a great ride, Robert Gill David Callinan has written a taut, fast-paced, page-turner of a novel. It's a non-stop thriller that features a villain on par with Dr. Lecter. In the vein of a Preston & Child 'Gideon Crew' novel. This is a great read Tammy Windsor Callinan weaves a very intricate and addictive web of suspense that I found unable to resist or put down until the end. I can't wait to read what is in store for Delaney next, Amazon review
