He querido reescribir en clave posmoderna el "Discurso F nebre Pericles"(430 A.C), escrito por Tuc dides, por ser el testimonio m s impresionante de la antigua democracia ateniense y sus inestimables valores c vicos. La solidaridad, la amistad c vica, el respeto por los mayores, el amor al ser y no el poseer, la b squeda de la perfecci n mediante el arte, son claves para redescubrir el ideal de democracia Ateniense del siglo IV A.C. Estoy convencido, que desde su esencia, podremos repensar nuestra democracia actual, por ser un llamado a la solidaridad y la virtud personal y pol tica. El desaf o de nuestro tiempo es construir una sociedad eco-democr tica - superando el antropocentrismo inherente de la antigua concepci n democr tica de la sociedad humana-, as el ideal primario de una comunidad pol tica organizada, ser m s amplio, m s omnicomprensivo, y sin duda la posibilidad de realizar el ideal de un concepto de "bien com n" m s amplio, donde toda la creaci n terrestre se encuentre en su radio de acci n. Hablamos de una sociedad pol tica, no s lo unida por un pacto social, m s bien de un gran pacto social verde o ecoc ntrico, que se enlaza con los grande valores del "buen vivir", presentes en el nuevo constitucionalismo de Am rica Latina, especialmente en la Constituci n Boliviana y la Ecuatoriana. Y que recogen los saberes ancestrales, de nuestros pueblos ind genas; donde la cultura humana se sabe unida con el devenir de la madre tierra.I have wanted to rewrite in a postmodern key the "Pericles Funeral Speech" (430 BC), written by Thucydides, for being the most impressive testimony of the old Athenian democracy and its inestimable civic values. Solidarity, civic friendship, respect for the elderly, love of being and not possessing, the search for perfection through art, are keys to rediscovering the ideal of Athenian democracy of the 4th century BC. I am convinced that from its essence, we can rethink our current democracy, as it is a call to solidarity and personal and political virtue. The challenge of our time is to build an eco-democratic society - overcoming the inherent anthropocentrism of the old democratic conception of human society - thus the primary ideal of an organized political community will be broader, more comprehensive, and without a doubt the possibility of realizing the ideal of a broader concept of "common good", where all earthly creation is within its radius of action. We are talking about a political society, not only united by a social pact, but rather a great green or ecocentric social pact, which is linked to the great values of "good living", present in the new constitutionalism of Latin America, especially in the Bolivian and Ecuadorian Constitution. And that collect the ancestral knowledge of our indigenous peoples; where human culture is known to be united with the future of mother earth.
