Parallelt med krigen udvikler den forbudte k rlighed sig mellem skovrideren og Tine, men som krigen ender deres forhold katastrofalt. Bogen er et af Bangs vigtigste og mest popul re v rker. 'Tine' blev filmatiseret i 1964.
