När Barbro Alving gick bort 1987, efterlämnade hon en stor svit dagboksanteckningar och brev. De låg ordentligt daterade kartongvis i grova kuvert. Anteckningarna och breven skulle bilda underlag till Alvings planerade memoarer. Som det verkligen var var det tänkt att de skulle heta. Under titeln Personligt utgavs under åren 1990-92 fyra band med dagböcker och brev från åren 1936 till 1959. Något härur återfinns i Bang om Bang , som tillsammans med Bangs bästa år 2009 utgavs av Ruffa Alving till hundraårsminnet av Barbro Alvings födelse. Dessa glimtar väckte mersmak hos mången läsare, varför det stora verket kom att återutges i två volymer 2010. För kommentarer och förklaringar svarar Ruffa Alving.

Klinisk neurofysiologi giver den første samlede danske fremstilling af faget klinisk neurofysiologi med fokus på både de kliniske problemstillinger og den tekniske disciplin, faget også er. Teksten beskriver alle metoder, der regelmæssigt anvendes på klinisk-neurofysiologiske afdelinger. Hovedvægten er på elektrodiagnostiske meto­der, men også andre metoder, fx ultralydundersøgelse af perifere nerver, er medta­get. For at betone den enkelte metodes tekniske aspekter og faldgru­ber gennemgås metoderne hver for sig i hvert sit kapitel. Enkelte kapitler tager udgangs­punkt i en klinisk problemstilling, fx udredning af søvnsygdomme. Generelt er vægten lagt på det almindelige snarere end det sjældne. Den primære målgruppe er yngre læger inden for neurologi, men mange andre med interesse for neurologi og neurokirurgi vil kunne få glæde af bogen. De store kapitler om EEG, EP og EMG kan bruges på neuro­fysiologiassistent- og bioanalytikeruddannelserne, og bogen giver henvisende læger fra andre specialer indsigt i de undersøgelser, som de bestiller til deres patienter.
