The Joy of Marriage depicts a spiritual marriage that is centered around the word of God and gives examples of marital relationship and communion. You will laugh, smile, and cry as you read this wonderful account. Readers will glean that just as the trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) is a family, man in God's image must be made a family. Thus, we understand through Genesis 1 and 2 that God created woman from the side of man so that the man would not be alone. Man cannot wholly comprehend and appreciate the crux of his existence until he learns to subsist with someone and for someone. This books walks through the life of a couple from the beginning until God decided to take one-half of the partnership home. Read it, and get a copy for a friend.
In this taut Southern family drama, the sins of a favorite son rock a small Mississippi town. Reverend Sabre Winfrey, Jr., shepherd of the Seven Seals Missionary Baptist Church, believes in God, his own privilege, and enterprise. He owns the barbershop and the radio station, and generally keeps an iron hand on every aspect of society in Dominion, Mississippi. He and his wife, Priscilla, have five boys; the youngest, Emanuel, is called Wonderboy--no one sings prettier, runs as fast, or turns as many heads. But Wonderboy, his father, and all the structures in place that keep them on top are not as righteous as they seem to be. And when Wonderboy is caught off guard by an encounter with a stranger, he finds himself confronted by questions he'd never imagined. His response sends shock waves through the entire community. Priscilla and Diamond, two women who love these men, bear witness to their charms and bear the brunt of their choices. Through their eyes and their stories, Dominion offers an intricate, intimate view of how secrets control us, how shame stifles us, how silence implicates us, and how even love plays a role in the everyday violence and casual sins of the powerful. A brilliantly crafted Black Southern family drama told with the captivating force, humor, and tenderness carried in the hearts of these women, Addie E. Citchens's Dominion wrestles with the many brutal, sinister ways in which we are shaped by fear and patriarchy, and studies how we might yet choose to break free.

Abstract: In this dissertation I analyze the linguistic construction of the imagined teen reader on the multiple levels of discourse in three teen magazines, Teen, Seventeen, and YM. More specifically, I explore how teen women readers are constructed morphologically, syntactically, semantically, and pragmatically throughout all text within magazine editorial control. I ultimately argue that teen magazine discourse in this project presents teen women as fundamentally lacking and undermines their agency; the magazine then uses discourse features to sell teen women solutions to the discursively-constructed problems they created. Dissertation Discovery Company and University of Florida are dedicated to making scholarly works more discoverable and accessible throughout the world. When plunging enrollment forces two rival high schools to merge, two class presidents must work together to make the schools unite. But when a mutual crush emerges, they'll both have to figure out what they want and where their loyalties lie before they become the most hated people at school. Meg Williams is on the way to making her dreams come true. As the incoming Junior class president for Hirono High School, all she needs are a few more As and an excellent college recommendation letter, then she can leave Huntersville, California, and her ghosts behind. Or, at least she was on track until the school district decided to combine Hirono with their rival, Davies High School. Now, Meg is wandering the pristine hallways of Davies High, her life plan threatened by Hirono's queen mean girl, Freya Allenson, and the maddeningly perfect Chris Chaves, Davies High School's class president. When it turns out Huntersville's Golden Boy won't just step down, Meg begrudgingly accepts that they'll have to work together for the year. Worse still, escalating pranks between the rival classmates and a developing crush threaten to throw Meg even further off course. As homecoming draws near, both Meg and Chris will have to decide where their loyalties lie.
Two teens must keep their working--and romantic-- relationship a secret from their grandmas, who are longtime social media rivals, in this hilariously sweet rom com from the author of The Homecoming War. Jamie Webb is happy to be the camera-shy brains behind her grandmother BamBam's social media stardom--especially if it makes college admissions officers notice her. But with BamBam's antics, creating content isn't easy. Going to an influencers convention in Las Vegas is just what Jamie needs to relax and get inspired. Well, it is before BamBam learns that Buzzy Timmons, her archnemesis and fellow granfluencer, is also attending--along with her influencer grandson, Ethan. No matter how cute Ethan is, Jamie refuses to hang out with the enemy . . . until she learns about a cash prize for best tourism video. A prize Ethan can help her win. Exploring Vegas with Ethan turns out to be more fun and flirty than Jamie expects. But without BamBam's blessing, can they ever have anything real?
