With compassion and insight, Caron Chandler Loveless uses humor -- lots of it -- to inspire and encourage women as they face midlife. Loveless writes with sensitivity about more than estrogen and hot flashes; she confronts self-image questions, the empty-nest syndrome, ailing parents, and the fear of letting go, among other topics, and gives a hopeful outlook to the new world that lies ahead.

Music teachers around the world have positively influenced the lives of children. From Susan Udell who reaches out to over 3,000 students in Madison Wisconsin through her Hand-chimes program, to Deidre Roberts who shares the love of music to children in poverty stricken areas of Pakistan, Ecuador and Cambodia; many of these wonderful music teachers go unnoticed until now. This book is the result of research done by Dr. Caron L. Collins of the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York in Potsdam. Her research reveals the educational innovations and inspirational stories of nearly 50 music education alumni from over 2,000 graduates of the Crane School of Music, premier college of music education located in the North Country of New York State. These influential music teachers embody the ideals of Julia Ettie Crane, founder of this first institute for music educator training, nearly 125 years ago. The book gathers the stories of influential music teachers from the most notorious music schools in the United States, coupled with the life history of Julia Ettie Crane.Julia Ettie Crane was one of the important founders of our nation’s music education over 100 years ago, but until now, no book has been written devoted to her contribution and her ongoing influence in today’s classrooms. Thousands of music teachers have earned their degrees from her institute and have gone on to develop original music programs around the world. This book illuminates her forward-thinking philosophy from the archives of her personal writings and captures the selected stories gathered from many alumni to inspire current teachers to utilize these creative ideas in their school music programs. Public school music teachers will be encouraged and future music educators enlightened by the innovation of Miss Crane and her mission to educate all children through music.

Alzheimer's - What they forget to tell you - A personal journey: Revised Edition
Caron Leid
Independently Published
2019

Although more and more people are being affected by Alzheimer's disease, there is not enough information surrounding the true daily struggle of the disease. Alzheimer's disease is savage and the collateral damage it creates is catastrophic. Although parts of this story were extremely difficult to write, and worse to ensure that the moments were captured exactly as they happened, it really is a personal journey. this is a story to inspire people not to take any moment for granted. This disease does not only rob a person of their memory, it takes their dignity and independence with it. It is a story of testing one's resolve, and realizing that life is truly what you make of it. This story is dedicated to my mother. It is hard to see what she has become, I know there are still pieces of her with me, and this is what I hold on to. I wish I had the information in this book when my mother was first diagnosed with this horrible disease, but alongside my story I have added many resources that are available to others. It also shows that even though you don't think that you have the strength, you find a way and you don't give up. I hope my story inspires you, and at the very least, you can use something in this book, whether the disease affects someone you know, or for preventative care.
A collection of prose, ponderings, and moments on topics such as love, loss, and life in general.

We have much to learn from mothers and babies, not just about early life psychic phenomena that are active in us, but also about the analytic technique, when the internal setting becomes more important than the analyst's interpretative capacity. The infant observation method is a useful tool for the refinement of psychoanalytic listening of primitive phenomena and for the development of the containment and receptive capacity in the analyst, or any professional who is dedicated to the early stages of development. This book is a living testimony of years of observation work with the Bick method, including pregnancy and delivery, and much more spent in the working through of this material, in these unforgettable - and usually inaccessible - first three years of life.

This is the first comprehensive critical study of Western literature about Thailand. It offers a broad view, covering literary attempts to describe Siam in the 13th century, through the formative phase of Western engagement in the 16th century, the various competing European imperialisms in the 19th century, to today's era of mass tourism and the global reach of mobile, economically and culturally powerful First World populations. This will appeal to those interested in Thailand, critiques of travel writing and the Anna Leonowen's legacy.
Trapped between life and the afterlife, three women meet and share their stories while discovering the truth about the men in their lives—and about themselves. Suspended in an eerie state of limbo, an entity called the Gatekeeper tells Nikki, Ronnie, and Mrs. Hawthorne they are on the cusp of entering the afterlife—but only if the women can persuade him that in their earthly lives, they knew the meaning of love. Fragments of their memories return, plunging them back into their pasts, and forcing them to face the desires, disappointments, addictions, lies, and obsessions they battled in life. But before time runs out, will they find the answer to the ultimate question: what is love? “Darkly funny and completely compelling, with brilliantly flawed characters you can’t help rooting for, even when they’re bad.” —Frances Quinn, author of The Smallest Man “Utterly mind blowing! If Stuart Turton had written Gone Girl it would look like this. Intelligent, compelling writing that is genre defining. Brilliant!” —Victoria Dowd, author of The Supper Club Murders “Gripping, thought-provoking and clever. I was hooked from the very first page.” —Nicola Gill, author of The Neighbours “Beautiful, edgy and the perfect debut. A tale crafted with heart, soul and sass.” —Keith A. Pearson, author of The ‘86 Fix
