This book explores the presidential image of Donald Trump as it is constructed by the media within American national mythology, precisely the frontier myth.By offering an account of three milestones in the development of the frontier mythology in its intersection with presidential imagery, the book shows how the image of Donald Trump fits into the line of "cowboy presidents," together with Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. It also offers insights into the reasons for making Russian president Vladimir Putin a part of Trump’s story and a routinely mentioned figure in American presidential politics.Applying the means of philosophical anthropology to this topical issue at the intersection of politics and the media, this volume will appeal to those working and studying in the areas of media studies, political anthropology, American studies, and myth studies.

Donald J. Trump's Presidency
This book captures Donald J. Trump’s presidency by addressing the remarkable tropes that defined that period. It offers research-based investigations of the communicative aspects of Trump’s presidency, with a focus on race, immigration, xenophobia, and social conflicts as they interact with communication. The book utilizes research data to capture critical moments of the presidency. Chapters examine metadiscourse during President Trump’s press events, where he accused the media of “Nasty Question” and “Fake News”, offer computational framing analysis to expose the communication of racism and xenophobia in US-Mexico cross-border wall discourses, and provide critical textual analysis of select episodes of CW’s critically acclaimed TV show Jane the Virgin, exposing how citizenship, or lack thereof shapes one’s relationship to the state and surrounding communities. They also offer textual analysis to demonstrate how a predominantly White newsroom differs from a newsroom that is racially diverse, against the backdrop of the coverage of two politically charged issues of Black Lives Matter and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and explore interdisciplinary concepts related to understanding immigrants’ and sojourners’ believability evaluation of disinformation.Donald J. Trump's Presidency will be a key resource for scholars and researchers of communication studies, political communication, media and cultural studies, race and ethnic studies, and political science, while also appealing to anyone interested in the communicative aspects of Trump’s presidency and American politics. This book was originally published as a special issue of the Howard Journal of Communications.

Author Nicole Marie Story is an ordinary girl with an extraordinary story. She describes, in graphic detail, her life of seventeen years of disordered eating, including behaviours of anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating, and of how President Donald J. Trump influenced the end of her great war with food. This is the first ever book on eating disorders published from a place of strength versus one of weakness. It is written from a place of winning versus one of losing. Additionally, she writes of how Donald Trump became her hero at the age of nine in 1991, before she knew anything of the greatness of the Trump name. Fast forward to 2015 and she called the presidential election from day one, living for three years as an undercover Trump supporter, to protect her work and friendships. Other subjects discussed include Fake Yoga, Trump Derangement Syndrome, abuse of #MeToo, illegal immigration, sex, skyscrapers, and her beautiful dog Gwendolyn The book entertains, educates, and inspires Samastitihi.
