Der Ansatz der EU zum Grenzmanagement wird derzeit in Frage gestellt, da die Unruhen in den Nachbarstaaten rund um das Mittelmeer die derzeitige Sicherheits-, Einwanderungs- und Asylpolitik an die Grenzen ihrer Leistungsf higkeit bringen. Diese Studie gibt einen berblick ber die Sicherheitsma nahmen, die sowohl von der EU als auch von einzelnen Mitgliedstaaten an den gemeinsamen Mittelmeergrenzen angewendet werden, und stellt die wichtigsten Bestimmungen des im Laufe der Jahre ausgeformten Dubliner Regelwerks vor, wobei auch kurz auf die Auswirkungen auf die Rechte von Einwanderern eingegangen wird. Um m gliche Zusammenh nge zwischen Sicherheitsma nahmen und Asylrecht zu ermitteln, wurden halbstrukturierte Interviews mit bestimmten Interessengruppen durchgef hrt, deren Ergebnisse nach einer thematischen Inhaltsanalyse vorgestellt werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass eindeutig die Auffassung vorherrscht, dass die derzeitigen Strategien der EU solidarischer gestaltet werden m ssen und dass andere Aspekte dieser Strategien berpr ft werden m ssen, obwohl trotz ihrer sonstigen M ngel kein konkreter kausaler Zusammenhang zwischen den Dublin-Verordnungen und der Verh rtung der gemeinsamen Grenzen oder der Verletzung der Rechte von Einwanderern festgestellt werden konnte.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Politik - Internationale Politik - Region: S dosteuropa, Balkan, Eberhard-Karls-Universit t T bingen (Institut f r Politikwissenschaften), Veranstaltung: Proseminar: Einf hrung in die Internationalen Beziehungen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In einer Rede vor dem Deutschen Bundestag sagte der damalige Staatsminister im Ausw rtigen Amt, Hans Martin Bury am 19.12.2002: "Wenn es gelingt, dass ein islamisch gepr gtes Land den Weg der Demokratie, der Meinungsfreiheit, der Achtung und Verteidigung der Menschenrechte, der Gleichberechtigung von M nnern und Frauen, der Trennung von Religion und Staat, der Rechtsstaatlichkeit und der sozialen Marktwirtschaft erfolgreich geht, dann wird das f r Europa und weit ber Europa hinaus von unsch tzbarem Wert f r Frieden, Freiheit und Sicherheit in der Welt sein." In der Tat sah es mit der Er ffnung der Beitrittsverhandlungen der T rkei schon zwei Jahre sp ter nach Burys Rede im Bundestag danach aus, dass ein muslimisches Land in den Kreis der EU aufgenommen werden k nnte. Nun sind seit dem Verhandlungsbeginn schon sieben Jahre vergangen ohne dass ein Ende in Sicht w re. Vielmehr scheinen die Beitrittsverhandlungen mit der T rkei die EU vor noch nie dagewesene Probleme zu stellen, die den Beitritt der T rkei verz gern und letztlich sogar zu einem Scheitern des Beitritts der T rkei f hren k nnten, welches in der bisher so erfolgreichen Geschichte der EU-Beitrittsverhandlungen ein ausgesprochenes Novum w re. Hier ber ist eine ausgesprochen heftige Debatte entbrannt, die letzten Endes zu der berlegung f hrt: "Scheitert die T rkei an der EU oder scheitert die EU an der T rkei?" Im Folgenden soll daher zun chst durch die Analyse von drei ausgew hlten und stark diskutierten Problemstellungen - die sicherheitspolitischen berlegungen zum T rkei-Beitritt, die Qualit t der t rkischen Demokratie und der Zypern-Konflikt - ermittelt werden, inwiefern die T rkei die EU-Aufnahmebedingungen erf llen k
