This book is published on the occasion of an exhibition in Milan, which was first shown in Murcia (Spain) and after in Siena (September 2009 - January 2010), featuring a selection of 114 pictures, some of which are previoiusly unpublished, almost all of small size, by the famous American photographer Francesca Woodman. Born in Denver in 1958, daughter of the ceramist Betty and the painter George Woodman, Francesca started to work with the camera when she was only thirteen, by making her first self-portrait. In the nine following years, before her suicide in January 1981 when she was only twenty-three, she kept on taking pictures of herself at home, in the midst of nature, on her own or with friends, while in action shots or in studied poses. With texts by Isabel Tejeda, Marco Pierini and Lorenzo Fusi, a biography of the artist and a complete bibliography, this book is the most recent and most complete publication of the artist's work. Text in English and Italian.
American photographer Francesca Woodman produced six artist's books during her short, troubled life. Presented here is a facsimile edition of one of those notebooks. They are refined and evocative objects, created from old school notebooks found in Rome, in which she transcribed in elegant and small handwriting various texts and poems, in French and in Italian, and on which she affixed a sequence of some of her photographs. A precious facsimile edition presents for the first time one of these notebooks, chosen by Francesca's family for its beauty. Black and white images are covered, like in the original notebook, by a translucent film that makes the contrast with the notebook paper even more evocative.
Italian designer Francesca Liberatore (1983) has worked for some of the biggest fashion houses in the world. Francesca Liberatore worked for Viktor & Rolf in Amsterdam, Jean-Paul Gaultier in Paris and Brioni Womenswear in Italy, before launching her own brand around 2009. This book, presenting designs and stylistic inspirations of great intercultural richness, is structured in a four-section journey (London, Paris, Milan, New York) that represent the significant phases of the young fashion designer's professional growth. Gathering its experience in these pages, it allows to spread with renewed vigor the Italian style that the new generations - whom Francesca Liberatore represents - interpret all over the world. Text in English, Italian, French and Chinese.

Mysterious vortexes, hybrid creatures and tilted perspectives abound in Tulli's paintings and sculptures, balancing between the naturalistic and the surreal Italian artist Francesca Tulli (1956-2024) simultaneously developed her twin practices of painting and sculpture. Her paintings often depict lush domestic interiors with tilted perspectives and unusual viewpoints, while her sculptures of athletes or "mutated" creatures shift between classical and futuristic.

Addressing her daughter Francesca as she embarks on independent life, this is a compelling, often moving, family history in which Contini describes her ancestors' loves and lives in their adopted homeland where traditions were kept alive around the dinner table.
Sixteen-year-old Francesca could use her outspoken mother's help with the problems of being one of a handful of girls at a parochial school that has just turned co-ed, but her mother has suddenly become severely depressed. Reprint.
Francesca Maier knows little of her father's home country or her parents' life together before she was born. A summer in Berlin brings the past - and its secrets - alive. Adrift in a foreign city, she finds an unexpected friend in east Berliner Antonio - but what will he sacrifice to save her?

"The truth is I was glad he was dead... I wanted to celebrate his death..."Her father's death proves the trigger for Francesca Tomasi, the first-born daughter of a Sicilian immigrant family living in Australia, to relive events she never should have witnessed. At the tender age of twelve, Francesca is brought face to face with an ugly reality that forces her to bury secrets and wrestle with choices no one should ever have to make. Her struggle becomes one of survival as she defies attempts to silence her.Trapped in a psychological web of fear, jealousy and deceit, Francesca learns that what she needs most is also her greatest threat.Fly, Francesca, Fly is the story of one woman's struggle to free herself from the shackles of culture and history imposed on her by her Sicilian parents and extended family. When her father dies, a middle aged Australian-born woman of Sicilian parents writes a letter to her mother expressing her thoughts and feelings about events that took place in the family, in order to arrive at some internal peace. Unable to trust anyone, she describes how she struggled to survive on her own through PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction, and suicidal tendencies.
