Greetings My name is Kay Cassidy. I have written five books thus far, and each one is an autobiography. I was born in Bremerton, and lived on the West Coast for most of my life, bur moved 16 times and lived in different states. I traveled through about half the states in the US, and around the world. I have been on three continents. I love to do crafts, write, and also music as I have written some songs, and play seven musical instruments, and sing alto in the Peninsula Community Chorus. I have been in choirs for 26 years. I hope you enjoy reading my book about crafts as much as I enjoyed writing it
My name is Kay Bey, also known as DaButtonPusha. I spent twenty-one years of my life involved in the creation of hip-hop and indie music. I spent more than half of that time being actively involved in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, local hip-hop/indie From the moment I stepped onto the scene, I noticed some things I felt the scene needed to improve upon. It was only after I became a full-fledged active member of the indie scene as a hip-hop/indie artist-one who was creating, pushing, promoting and performing my own music, did I discover the depths of the ills on the indie music scene and its artists. After about five years of being a part of the scene, I decided that simply being an artist was not good enough, so I changed my mission. My mission became not only to be an artist, but also to be an artist that made a positive impact on the entire Pittsburgh hip-hop/indie music scene. When I began this journey, I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I did have a clear goal-do for other hip-hop artists what people were unwilling to do for me: build, show love and show support to as many artists as I could and show interest in what they were building.By the end of my journey, I had created several projects: Pittsburgh's longest running live hip-hop showcase called The Hip-Hop Buffet Series; a seven year run of a TV showcase for hip-hop/indie artists called The Ripple Effect, which reached far past Pittsburgh, airing in up to 400,000 homes in the DMV area; two other indie artist TV shows that ran for three years; and an on line TV network called JPBTv.com, which provided various different internet based, internationally viewed showcases for indie artists such as the Go Live Tv Hour, Underground Beast Radio Show and more. I accomplished all of this with little or no help.I disbanded my company, JPB, INC., in 2017. Although my focus has changed some, I-DaButtonPusha-am still actively building with and for independent artists; currently I own a studio and a new media company called Grind City Media, LLC.I am writing this book for encouragement to anyone who wishes to be building in the entertainment field or any other related field and may lack the resources or guidance to do so.I approached Da Building Process much like how people construct a road. This is simply how I did it; I trust it helps someone else. DaButtonPusha

This book focuses on Kay Fisker (1893-1965)’s housing estates in Copenhagen. A leading exponent of Danish Functionalism, Fisker was influenced by Louis Sullivan, and had a strong belief in continuity, putting modernism in perspective and identifying precedents. He built many large-scale housing schemes, mostly for non-profit workers' housing associations, and developed innovative and beautifully considered high-density, low-rise block schemes, which have proven useful and influential to the growing number of contemporary architects who have examined his designs. Beautifully illustrated with photographs and architectural drawings, this book documents and critically analyses three of Kay Fisker's seminal housing projects in Copenhagen: Hornbaekhus (1923); Vestersohus (1935-39); and Dronningegarden (1943-58). These projects reflect how Fisker's work contains valuable lessons for contemporary architects in economy, precision and generosity in housing design. Essays by Martin Søberg, Poul Sverrild and Job Floris set Fisker’s work within their historical, social and architectural context. In the final section, architects from three leading contemporary practices – Clancy Moore, Monadnock and Tony Fretton - discuss how Kay Fisker has influenced their own approaches and work.
These warm and wonderful readers will delight both students and teachers as they guide young children along the path of written language one step at a time. Written in order and phonetically, each story focuses on specific word groups, sounds and sentence structures. Each story has a beginning, middle and an ending. Succeeding stories build on these skills and then move on to the next level of skill. The books are conceived in much the same way as the "Dick and Jane" readers of an earlier era, but with a very important difference: these stories have a touching "heart content" to them. The stories are gently humorous while honoring nature, animals and the environment. The illustrations in their warm simplicity are wonderful compliments to the stories Whether you are rewarding an eager reader with a first experience of reading something someone else wrote, or helping a struggling reader get the hang of all those letters, these readers are sheer joy for everyone. The six books use simple words that the early reader will easily grasp. They have been carefully chosen by a reading specialist to help students advance from the short vowels to the silent "e" to the vowel combinations. At the back of each book is a list of sight words that should be reviewed with the child before reading the book. Appropriate for Grades 1-3. Titles of the Books in the Set (must be ordered individually) are: Sam Cat and Nat Rat: Book 1, Ned and Fred: Book 2, Len Bug and Jen Slug: Book 3, Jake the Snake: Book 4, Tim's Boat: Book 5, Kay and Jay: Book 6.

While her career as a painter was often eclipsed during her lifetime by that of her husband, Yves Tanguy, recent scholarship posits that the influence was mutual and that Kay Sage's work was distinct from Tanguy's. The full extent of Sage's talent is laid bare in this stunning slip-cased book that includes many works that have not been viewed publicly since the 1940s and 1950s. An insightful essay explores Sage's involvement with the Surrealists and her marriage to Tanguy, as a partner and sounding board. A generously illustrated chronology includes personal and archival material that reveals much about her life and practice. The paintings, collages, and works on paper-haunting, evocative, and original-are reproduced to full effect, each with comprehensive provenance and exhibition history. Impeccably researched and engagingly written, this monograph brings to life an intrepid and hugely gifted artist whose talent is long overdue for recognition.
In the late 1910s, in a Europe ravaged by World War I, Danish illustrator Kay Nielsen put the finishing touches on his illustrations of A Thousand and One Nights. The results are considered masterpieces of early 20th-century illustration: bursting with sumptuous colors of deep blues, reds, and gold leaf, and evoking all the magic of this legendary collection of Indo-Persian and Arabic folktales, compiled between the 8th and 13th centuries. In the financially strapped postwar climate, however, publishers retreated from Nielsen’s project and the publication never happened. A rising star, Nielsen moved on to other work, and the spectacular pen, ink, and watercolor images of this world heritage classic remained under lock and key for 40 years. Published just once in the 1970s, the illustrations were rescued from oblivion after Nielsen’s death in 1957 and are now held by the UCLA Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, the Art Institute of Chicago, and in two private collections.Published for the first time ever in five colors including gold, this unique presentation of fine art prints revives all 21 strikingly beautiful illustrations reproduced directly from Nielsen’s original watercolors—the only complete set of his beloved illustrations to have survived. Each illustration is presented individually in an extra-large format and on fine art paper, allowing Nielsen’s graphic mastery and rich array of influences, from Art Nouveau to Japanese woodcuts to Indian painting, to dazzle. The set includes a 144-page hardcover book also printed in five colors, featuring descriptions of all of the images, and three generously illustrated essays on the making of this series, the origin of Nielsen’s unique imagery, and a history of the tales. In addition, the accompanying book features many unpublished or rarely seen artworks by Nielsen, as well as all 23 of the incredibly intricate black-and-white drawings Nielsen also created for the original publication. This is a rare chance to own exceptional reproductions of this highly influential artist’s only surviving complete set of watercolors.Limited and numbered edition of 5,000 copies.
Step into a world of star-crossed lovers, magical winds, mischievous giants, and trolls, through some of the most exquisite illustrations in publishing history. In this gorgeous reprint, TASCHEN revives the most ambitious publication project of beloved Danish artist Kay Nielsen, one of the most famous children’s book illustrators of all time. First published in 1914, East of the Sun and West of the Moon is a celebrated collection of fifteen fairy tales, gathered by legendary Norwegian folklorists Peter Christen Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Engebretsen Moe on their journeys across Norway in the mid-nineteenth century. Nielsen’s illustration edition of Asbjørnsen and Moe’s tales is considered a jewel of early 20th-century children's literature, highly sought-after by art and book collectors worldwide. An original signed copy of the book sold at auction in 2008 commanded the highest price ever paid for an illustrated children’s book. This finely crafted reprint restores the stunning detail and artistry of Nielsen’s images to their original splendor. Featuring 46 illustrations, including many enlarged details from Nielsen’s rare original watercolors, the book is printed in five colors. Three accompanying essays, illustrated with dozens of rare and previously unseen artworks by Nielsen, explore the history of Norwegian folktales, Nielsen’s life and work, and how this masterpiece came to be.
