Rhizoctonia solani (K hn) (Teleomorfo: Thanatephorus cucumeris (Fr. Donk) un fungo distruttivo presente ovunque nel suolo, che comprende parassiti delle piante e saprofiti con un'ampia gamma di ospiti. Esiste in natura come un gruppo diverso in termini di numero di nuclei nelle cellule, caratteristiche di coltura, ospiti e virulenza. Il genere Rhizoctonia stato a lungo problematico dal punto di vista tassonomico. Attualmente sono riconosciuti 14 gruppi di anastomosi (AG) con fisiologia e composizione genetica distinte. Sebbene il metodo dell'anastomosi sia accurato, valido e attualmente utilizzato, a volte impossibile determinare a quale AG appartiene un isolato mediante anastomosi, perch alcuni isolati non si anastomosano con rappresentanti di nessun AG conosciuto, mentre altri hanno perso la capacit di autoanastomizzarsi. Il raggruppamento per anastomosi un metodo comodo ma non ideale per la classificazione di R. solani. I vari metodi molecolari utilizzati per la classificazione delle specie Rhizoctonia spp. includono gli isoenzimi, l'analisi degli acidi grassi, la cariotipizzazione e il fingerprinting del DNA basato su marcatori molecolari, che si sono dimostrati promettenti.

Donk)) est un champignon destructeur omnipr sent dans le sol, comprenant des parasites v g taux et des saprophytes avec un large ventail d'h tes. Il existe dans la nature sous diff rentes formes en fonction du nombre de noyaux dans les cellules, de ses caract ristiques de culture, de ses h tes et de sa virulence. Le genre Rhizoctonia pose depuis longtemps des probl mes taxonomiques. l'heure actuelle, 14 groupes d'anastomose (AG) sont reconnus, avec une physiologie et une composition g n tique distinctes. Bien que la m thode d'anastomose soit pr cise, valide et couramment utilis e, il est parfois impossible de d terminer quel AG appartient un isolat par anastomose, car certains isolats ne s'anastomosent avec aucun repr sentant d'un AG connu, tandis que d'autres ont perdu leur capacit s'anastomoser. Le regroupement par anastomose est une m thode pratique mais pas id ale pour la classification de R. solani. Les diff rentes m thodes mol culaires utilis es pour la classification des Rhizoctonia spp. comprennent les isozymes, l'analyse des acides gras, le caryotypage et l'empreinte g n tique bas e sur des marqueurs mol culaires, qui se sont r v l es prometteuses.
