The Chemistry of Hydrazine is a comprehensive book written by Ludwig Frederick Audrieth. The book covers the chemical properties, reactions, and applications of hydrazine, a colorless and highly reactive compound with a molecular formula of N2H4. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which provides detailed information on various aspects of hydrazine chemistry. The first chapter provides an introduction to hydrazine, discussing its history, physical properties, and uses. The second chapter covers the synthesis and production of hydrazine, including its industrial and laboratory preparation. The third chapter delves into the chemical properties of hydrazine, including its reactivity with various compounds and its role as a reducing agent. The fourth chapter focuses on the reactions of hydrazine with different elements and compounds, including metals, halogens, and organic compounds. The fifth chapter discusses the applications of hydrazine in various industries, such as the production of rocket fuel, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural chemicals. Throughout the book, the author provides detailed explanations of the chemical reactions and mechanisms involved in hydrazine chemistry. The book also includes numerous diagrams, tables, and equations to help readers understand the complex concepts. Overall, The Chemistry of Hydrazine is a valuable resource for chemists, researchers, and students interested in the properties and applications of this important compound. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. When a child has difficulties eating or sleeping, or throws frequent tantrums, many parents cross their fingers and hope it's a phase to be outgrown soon. But when they persist, challenging behaviors can follow children to school, contributing to academic problems, social difficulties, and further problems in adolescence and adulthood. The authors of Evidence-Based Interventions for Children with Challenging Behavior take a preventive approach in this concise, well-detailed guide. Offering best practices from an extensive Response to Intervention (RTI) evidence base, the book provides guidelines for recognizing the extent of feeding, sleeping, toileting, aggression, and other issues, and supplies successful primary, secondary, and tertiary interventions with rationales. Case examples integrate developmental theories and behavior principles into practice, illustrate how strategies work, and show how to ensure that parents and caregivers can implement them consistently for maximum effect. Progress charts, content questions, and other helpful features make this an invaluable resource for students and professionals alike. Included in the coverage:The prevention model and problem solving.Screening techniques.Evidence-based practices with children and their caregivers.Behavior principles and their application.Monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes.Plushelpful appendices, resource links, and other learning tools.Evidence-Based Interventions for Children with Challenging Behavior is an essential text for graduate students, scientist-practitioners/professionals, and researchers in child and school psychology; assessment, testing and evaluation; occupational therapy; family; educational psychology; and speech pathology. You can access a class syllabus that works as a companion to this book at http://health.usf.edu/nocms/medicine/pediatrics/child_dev_neuro/babybehavior/

This book traces the history of the baby-boomers, beginning with an explanation of the cause of the post-war baby boom and ending with the contemporary concerns of ageing boomers. It shows how the baby-boomers challenged traditional family attitudes and adopted new lifestyles in the 1960s and 1970s. Drawing on 90 interviews conducted with baby boomers living in London and Paris, the book demonstrates how their aspirations for leisure and consumption converged with family responsibilities and obligations. It shows how the baby boomers emerged from an authoritative upbringing to challenge some of the traditional assumptions of the family, such as marriage and cohabitation. The rise of feminism led by the baby-boomers is examined, together with its impact on family forms and structures. The book shows how women’s trajectories veered between the two extremes of family and employment, swerving between the models of stay-at-home mother and working woman. It demonstrates how new family configurations such as solo parenting, and recomposed families were adopted by the baby boomers. Today, as they enter into retirement, the baby-boomers remain closely involved in the lives of their children and parents, although relationships with elderly parents are maintained primarily through a sense of duty and obligation. The book concludes that the baby boomers have both been influenced by and actors to the changes and transformations that have occurred to family life. They reconciled and continue to reconcile, individualism with family obligations. As grandparents often with an ageing parent still alive, the baby boomers wish to keep the independence that has been the hallmark of their generation whilst not abandoning family life.
