"Yes mother, I'm awake," I replied to the soft knocking on my door. It had happened every morning of my life, so I knew who was there and that my day had been planned. "Five new novices have been accepted and are moving into the dorm. You can go down there and help with that, but don't stay in the room with them alone. Appearance of propriety is very important. Two instructors are taking them to the range to give them a rundown on the basics. Lia will be there in case of accidents, but you could give pointers, like your brother James. Watch their magic and see what they're doing right or wrong." "I'll be right there. I'm just cleaning up a few things in here." "Don't be too long or everything will be moved without your help." And that started another typical day for me.

Harold Frederic (born Harold Henry Frederick; August 19, 1856 - October 19, 1898) was an American journalist and novelist. Frederic was born in Utica, New York, to Presbyterian parents. After his father was killed in a railroad accident when Frederic was 18 months old, the boy was raised primarily by his mother. He finished school at age fifteen, and soon began work as a photographer. For four years he was a photographic touch-up artist in his hometown and in Boston. In 1875 he began work as a proofreader for the newspaper The Utica Herald and then The Utica Daily Observer. Frederic later became a reporter. Frederic married Grace Green Williams in 1877, and they had five children together. By 1882 he was editor of the newspaper The Albany Evening Journal in the state capital. In 1884 Frederic went to live in England as London correspondent of the New York Times, and worked at this position for the rest of his life. He brought his family to London by 1889. Afterward he met Kate Lyon, who became his mistress. Frederic and Lyon established a second household, living openly together; and they had three illegitimate children. Frederic wrote several early stories, but it was not until he published Illumination (1896), better known by its American title, The Damnation of Theron Ware; followed by Gloria Mundi (1898), that his talent as a novelist was fully realized. Critic Jonathan Yardley called Damnation "a minor classic of realism". Kate Lyon was a Christian Scientist. When Frederic suffered a stroke in 1898, she tried to cure him by faith healing. After his death, she was tried on charges of manslaughter brought by his wife Grace Frederic, and acquitted at trial.

Mrs. Jackson devoted a whole year of her life to writing and compiling materials for "A Century of Dishonor," and while thus engaged she mentally resolved to follow it with a story which should have for its motif the cause of the Indian. After completing her "Report on the Condition and Needs of the Mission Indians of California" (see Appendix, p. 458) she set herself down to this task, and "Ramona" is the result. This was in New York in the winter of 1883-84, and while thus engaged she wrote her publisher that she seemed to have the whole story at her fingers' ends, and nothing but physical impossibility prevented her from finishing it at a sitting. Alluding to it again on her death-bed, she wrote: "I did not write Ramona;' it was written through me. My life-blood went into it, -all I had thought, felt, and suffered for five years on the Indian question."

This book, among others, seeks to provide an account of Ghana's membership of the United Nations Board of Auditors for 24 years. As the last of the five Directors of External Audit/Ghana, I deem it necessary to put together this account so that the future generations will know the role Ghana played in providing external audit services to the United Nations as a member of the Board of Auditors and its achievements on the international arena. Just as we have found strength and encouragement from the work of our predecessors, so will posterity look at our work and values, for inspiration to chart their own course in life. To achieve the full purpose, I have also included some of my personal experiences during my audit career in the latter chapters of this book. I am a chartered Accountant. I joined the Ghana Audit Service in 1974 and held key positions with both national and international organizations including the Chief Internal Auditor of the Ghana National Procurement Agency, an organization that imports goods in bulk for the Government. I was the Head of External Audit Offices at the Ghana Internal Revenue Service and the Ghana Customs Excise and Preventive Service. Two revenue-generating organizations of the Ghana Government. In 1996, l was appointed the Director of External Audit at the United Nations Board of Auditors, New York, the position I held for 4 years. I worked with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations as Chief Operational Review Officer. A position I held until my retirement on 31 December 2015.
This book explores the nature of personal experience, co-creation, and law of attraction - drawing together some of the best information shared with humanity by three well-known, off-world channels: Seth, Abraham and Bashar.

Seth: The History and Legacy of the Ancient Egyptian God Who Killed Osiris to Usurp the Throne

*Includes pictures*Includes ancient accounts*Includes online resources and a bibliography for further reading"On the third day Typhon Seth] was born, but not in due season or manner, but with a blow he broke through his mother's side and leapt forth ... For this reason the kings considered the third of the intercalated days as inauspicious, and transacted no business on that day, nor did they give any attention to their bodies until nightfall." - Plutarch, On Isis and OsirisAfrica may have given rise to the first human beings, and Egypt probably gave rise to the first great civilizations, which continue to fascinate modern societies across the globe nearly 5,000 years later. From the Library and Lighthouse of Alexandria to the Great Pyramid at Giza, the Ancient Egyptians produced several wonders of the world, revolutionized architecture and construction, created some of the world's first systems of mathematics and medicine, and established language and art that spread across the known world. With world-famous leaders like King Tut and Cleopatra, it's no wonder that today's world has so many Egyptologists. To the ancient Egyptians, as was the case with any society made up of inquiring humans, the world was a confusing and often terrifying place of destruction, death and unexplained phenomena. In order to make sense of such an existence, they resorted to teleological stories. Giving a phenomenon a story made it less horrifying, and it also helped them make sense of the world around them. Unsurprisingly, then, the ancient Egyptian gods permeated every aspect of existence. In the first dynastic period there is a symbolic depiction of the earliest form of kingship. The symbol consisted of the "Two Ladies and Two Lords." The Ladies were the goddesses Nekhbet and Wadjyt, who represented the Upper and Lower kingdoms of Egypt, each with her crown of either White or Red; the Two Lords were the conflicting gods Horus and Seth. The contention between these two gods was transmuted into real-world conflict when, during the Second Dynasty, king Peribsen chose to put the mysterious "Seth Animal" above his name, thus favoring one of the "Two Lords" over the other. Peribsen kept this close association with Seth, betraying the earlier kingly association with Horus, until king Khasekhemwy dethroned him and placed both gods" animals above his own name and declared "the Two Lords are at rest." The modern historian Geraldine Pinch suggests that this is a very early example of the Egyptians" tendency to mythologize their real-world conflicts, a trait the Egyptians would continue well into their long history. It's true that the vast history of Egypt can only be given a cursory view at any one time, but, in the case of its myths, just enough to contextualize the story can be sufficient to understand the progression of a deity like Seth through the millennia. In fact, the development of Seth's character throughout history is possibly one of the most fascinating and divisive among the Egyptian deities. Beginning as one of the "Two Lords" Seth's pre-eminence among the gods continues well into the later dynasties as he never loses his place among the principal nine deities, known as the Ennead, despite his nefarious dealings with his brother, Osiris, his sister and sister-in-law, Isis, and his nephew, their son, Horus. At first glance it is easy to see how Seth came to be vilified as a kind of "demon" or "devil" but, with an understanding of the belief structure he was born out of, modern readers can see that this divisive god was much more complex than a mere "adversary."Seth: The History and Legacy of the Ancient Egyptian God Who Killed Osiris to Usurp the Throne looks at the mythology surrounding one of antiquity's most famous deities. Along with pictures depicting important people, places, and events, you will learn about Seth like never before.
