Lincoln Friday is born into nothing, an obscure, dirt farmer's son, destined to live dominated by the jagged edges of two wars. His early years are an endless series of losses, yet he struggles back after each blow, and slowly, a strongbox of dreams emerges from the fog of his hopelessness. The harshest test of Lincoln's life, though, comes when the effects of his exposure to Agent Orange devastate both his and his daughter's lives. While the Fridays fight back passionately, the courts, Congress, and the VA turn their backs on them.In the end, his deeds were neither profound nor dazzling, but he left his mark on disparate people in disparate lands. The world he touched chafed less for his quiet dignity.
Brand new Second Lieutenant J.W. Weathersby is on orders to depart for a combat tour in Viet Nam. At a West Point wedding, though, he commits a very public faux pas and is thrust as punishment into a class of 160 select young officers who sweat and freeze through months of brutal training at the United States Army Ranger School. J.W. joins an African American PhD candidate and a Rose Bud Sioux Harvard graduate, the three pushed together to trudge the mountains, forests, and deserts as Ranger buddies. As half the class is weeded out, they share their disparate lives and dreams. J.W. struggles to be cut from the program, and at the same time fights desperately to remain. At Yonah Mountain is a coming of age adventure, an examination of race relations in the military, and an authentic tale of Army Ranger training.

Swami Abhishiktananda (Henri Le Saux, 1910-1973) was one of the most fascinating spiritual figures of the 20th century and a bridge-builder between East and West. His encounter with Indian spirituality over a period of twenty-five years deepened and enriched his Christian faith beyond measure. The fruits of this profound spiritual experience are to be found in this treasured book Prayer. The book was, as the author wrote, "written beside the Ganges in very close contact with the spiritual experience of the Upanishads .... In it] there is nothing technical. It seeks rather to be a travelling companion on the road that leads within." "A simple and practical handbook resplendent with the gems of Christian and Hindu wisdom, Prayer has rightly been acclaimed a classic and can be compared to similar works authored by contemporary Christian mystics who have explored contemplative prayer through Eastern and Western Spirituality, namely: Anthony de Mello, Hugo Enomiya-Lassalle, Bede Griffiths, William Johnston, Thomas Keating, John Main, Thomas Merton, Vincent Shigeto Oshida, Ama Samy, David Steindl-Rast, Vandana Mataji and many more pioneers in interreligious spiritual understanding." -from the Editor's Note

The book is an examination of relationships that exist in the world among people through their individual lives. We are all involved with many people throughout our days. This book tells how to look into a variety of different scenarios that pull people together in a temporary to permanent use of connections. I have looked at how people can use combinations of a different number of relationships to live life and sometimes in a mixture of different ways to benefit from them together. With personal experience and observations, I wrote with an understanding of the types and needs of a system of exchanges between people.
