BOOK DESCRIPTION: Former US Navy SEAL Walker Judge has nowhere to turn. He's a wanted man, a convicted murderer on the FBI's ten most wanted list. The Hague wants him for war crimes committed in Jordan. England wants him for acts of terrorism against their queen. His unseen enemy has relentlessly produced enough false evidence to make Walker a pariah the world over. He's not only taken Walker's SEAL team, but his flag and his future. Walker has only come back to Florida to kiss America goodbye...Junior Agent Persia Coltrane is falling apart. In Florida for a much needed R&R, she's besieged by nightmares that won't end. Her nightly glass of whiskey no longer numbs the memories from her last infil into South America. She can't eat, sleep, or focus. Until a breathtakingly beautiful man staggers out of the surf and drops to his knees on her beach. She can certainly focus then. Especially when he tips forward and reverently kisses the wet, packed sand. He didn't just swim all the way from Cuba, did he? That's over a hundred miles...
Having precog abilities didn't guarantee having answers, but it did mean Walker knew when trouble was in a specific area. In this case it was Finland and involved someone associated with Levi and a friend to Walker. So he wants in on this job - even if Levi doesn't have a job there. Yet. However, a quick phone call to Terk confirms Walker's suspicions. And he's already on the move.Ashley's life should have eased up with her move to Finland, but that same wariness creeping back in her life made her feel hunted once again. A strong healer, she helped those who showed up on her doorstep, telling them that she believed the healing energy brought them to her. However, she'd long ago learned that not everyone who showed up at her house wanted the best for her. So, when Walker shows up, she's not sure what to believe, but it's quickly all too clear that her life is in danger.
All Walker wants is a dog, but his mother is allergic. So he decides to set up his own business walking everyone else's dogs. This works better than he could have imagined when he finds he can talk to dogs and understand what they say to him! The dogs tell him of a terrible puppy farm hidden in the woods by Arlington Wherewithall, the richest, most famous man in the area. Nobody will listen to him, so it is down to Walker and the dogs to stop the farm and save the puppies.

This superb book unites the abolitionist famous speeches of David Walker and Henry Highland Garnet - two famous African American campaigners opposing slavery in the 19th century. Filled with vociferous opposition, both campaigners condemn racism and hatred underpinning the perpetuation of slavery. Insight into feelings of the time are dispensed: it was dangerous to be abolitionist as it meant standing against powerful economic interests controlling the Southern states. Retaliation, violent or otherwise, was a constant possibility. Unlike abolitionists more ingratiated with the Establishment of the era, Walker and Garnet did not fear criticizing otherwise lauded figures such as President Thomas Jefferson. As well as owning slaves, Jefferson published his opinion that black people were inherently inferior, and that their place in shackles was justified. That this view be espoused by a recent leader of the United States indicated, for Walker and Garnet, an urgent need for vigorous, sustained opposition.

The Depression Era photographs of Walker Evans (1903-1975) remain some of the most indelible and iconic images in the American consciousness. James R. Mellow's landmark biography of Evans-the first to make use of all his diaries, letters, work logs, and contact sheets-shows that Evans was not the social propagandist that many presume, but rather a fastidious observer, recording, simply, the way things were. Walker Evans is not only one of the most finely wrought portraits of a major American artist ever, it is also a fascinating cultural history of America in the 1930s and'40s.
A major reassessment of Walker Evans that shows him as a photographer both of his time and very much ahead of it. Walker Evans (1903–1975) is one of the great enduring figures of modern photography. His vivid images are inseparable from the history of the medium and the history of the USA. The subject matter was quintessentially American – small-town life, typical buildings, commercial signs and anonymous citizens – but Evans brought to them the curiosity and fascination of an outsider. His exacting eye defined an era while also questioning it. Pop artists and Conceptualists saw Evans as a pioneer and precursor, and his sensibility continues to inspire countless younger image makers. Walker Evans offers a broad overview of his work and its lasting influence on generations of artists. It brings together key photographs and projects spanning his entire career – from self-portraits of the 1920s to his Polaroid experiments in the 1970s – along with books and other publications that reflect his tireless capacity for observation. Together, the works reveal a creator who not only documented the world around him but also invited viewers to question the nature of photography and the perception of reality itself.
